What Does Street Fighter IV Look Like on iPhone?

Well, it looks like this, duh. (And it's pretty cool.)

[gamepro=137583]

Above, you see footage of the Street Fighter IV iPhone port in action, courtesy of GamePro [http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/214131/sf4-iphone-10-with-8-characters]. The iPhone version contains 8 characters, all from the original SF2 cast with the exception of SF4 newcomer Abel: Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, and M. Bison (aka Dictator).

The controls are on the screen itself in the form of a button pad and a joystick, and it actually looks like it controls pretty well, all things considered. The video shows a bout between eternal rivals Ryu and Ken, and it's nice to see a great fighting game making the transition to something more portable.

WTB Droid version, please!

I didn't like those kind of controls on Wolfenstein and I don't think I will like them on this game either. It just feels awkward to use.

Your digits seem to take up a lot of the screen real estate. I'd find it pretty annoying to have to try to see through your thumbs all the time.

God forbid one lack the fingers of a Japanese school girl.... Well... at least I can press all the buttons at once with relative ease....

I cannot wait for this game!

Looks real easy to play, and I love me some street fighter.

i don't like it. my thumbs would cover half of the screen. I'd need to get a iPad to see anything. put buttons on it and i will play.

Looks pretty cool. Don't know how well the controls would work, though. I'd have to try it myself, but I'm not a fan of Street Fighter 4, so I probably wont.

It's a technical marvel to be sure, but the fact that a good part of the screen is taken up by your thumbs makes me reluctant to believe that the game belonged on the iPhone.

Not bad at all. Definitely a step up from the Tetris port I play on my phone. I'd like it more if the controls weren't part of the gameplay screen, though. Apart from taking up a lot of space, it seems like an easy way to smudge and scratch your screen if you don't keep your thumb's nails nice and trim.

The one obvious disadvantage to me is tactile feedback. Case in point: There are blind people who can kick ass at Soul Calibur by listening closely to the audio. But I doubt they would be able to close their eyes for the controls; you can't tell with your fingers alone where the center of the D-pad is, and your fingers could block a large part of the screen.

However, that's more of an iPhone criticism than it is a SF4 one. All things considered, that does seem to be a very well-done version of it.

The game itself looks really good, but iPhone controls will always be inferior to something on a console. They could easily make a controller that plugs right into the charging port and i really don't see why they don't. Until the come to their senses we have to deal with bad virtual d-pads :(

Now that is something I would like to see. Is there a youtube video?
I remember seeing a news report on TV, but can't find a video. Probably not so much to see actually. But here's an article anyway.

Hmmm, looks good but I don't like the idea of putting my finger over the screen like that.

The controls seem akward, the screen isnt that big so if you have fat fingers it will be hard.

These control would work well on the Ipad because it is just a bigger Iphone it would be easier to use virutal controls like that.

Wow, that's quite good, but the way the controls are, sweaty hands are gonna become a rapidly re-occurring hassle.
