BioWare Bazaar Bidding Begins!

Get your bidding finger ready: The BioWare Bazaar auction has begun!

As promised, the BioWare Bazaar auction began at noon EST today with a lovely Mass Effect t-shirt pack that sold for 10,100 tokens. That's almost exactly double the number of tokens I have, which takes away a bit of the sting of not living in the U.S.: Even if I did, there's no way I'd be able to "afford" any of this stuff.

As noted equally cool [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/99497-BioWare-Countdown-Ends-BioWare-Blows-Up-UPDATED] for the rest of us which we'll be hearing about "in the coming weeks."

The auction action is just starting to heat up, so jump in now at the BioWare Social Network [http://social.bioware.com/bazaar].

10,000 points for a T-shirt?! And I thought to myself just yesterday: "Woohoo, I have 5000 points, I bet I could get something fun for that if I was allowed in the competition!"

...Shit.

Well, may as well try for one of those graphics cards.

And how the hell do clothes go for so much?

The funny thing is, the t-shirt pack went for over 10000 points while a Mass Effect 2-branded PC, which showed up a lot earlier than I expected, went for a little more than 16000. Bit of an imbalance there, I think. Which is probably part of BioWare's plan.

Hey, maybe you'll be able to get a sticker or something.

Wow... That is one sweet ass PC. If I had tons of money and was willing to move to a place which is about 20 hours away by flight, I would so get in on this action!

How come New York and Florida aren't included? Usually it is all of the mainland states minus Alaska. Once again we Europeans get a whole load of nothing, makes me glad to not want any of their products in the first place.

Thanks for the advice, Captain Negativity, but some folks might want to take a shot anyway.

I was thoroughly disappointed when I learned it was an auction style giveaway; I had thought it was going to be a raffle. Now all of us plebs with >10k tokens can feel disenfranchised.

Seriously, How do you get 10000+ points...I'm stuck at 6130 just because I can't get anyone to click the link...If you had started from the beginning and got the normal max every day, you can afford it...But then there are the people with 12000+...

Yay for only having 2300 points. This sucks big time. I thought I might be able to at least get a shirt, but I guess thats not happening. The posters are almost 10k tokens. So stupid. They shouldn't have had the whole "referral link" deal.

There are 412 prizes up for grabs, I have 2500 hopefully the last ever prize, no one has no points left and I can buy the most awesome prize.

Don't count on it...By that time, these people with connections up the wazoo will have gained back a lot of their points and outbid you again...I am aiming for some smaller prize on Thursday or Friday.

Feth I can't even bid on anything! Why are all the starting bids 5000+ points?
Because they are all in packs of items...This makes there be less auctions, and thus people spend all of their points trying to get at least one pack rather than splitting their tokens of several items...Not the best way to hold this kind of thing in my opinion...As it basically only supports the people who farmed the idea to link to death...

Still, you don't have to start at 5000. The minimum is only 10 points.

You're right though, I think they should have made it so that you buy raffle tickets with your points. The obsessive point farmers still get an advantage (as they should) but at least the normal people stand a chance.

There really isn't anything on the list I wanted... yay?

I think they could have handled this better, but I'm not surprised it's turned into what it is. If We Who Have Very Little actually do win something it would have to be from divine intervention... that's how bad this is and it really shouldn't be.

So, pray my friends. Pray to your chosen deities and hope they grant you mercy... for They With Many will not.
