Guinness World Records Gamers Edition Coming In February


Guinness World Records Gamers Edition 2008 [http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/], which goes on sale in February.

Billed as "the definitive guide to all computer gaming records, fact and figures," the book will cover videogaming facts and statistics from the earliest days of the industry to the present era. Lists of the world's best-selling and highest-rated videogames, interviews with top gamers and trivia about topics such as "Longest Prison Sentence For Playing A Computer Game" will all be included within the book's pages.

Guinness is also holding an online search for the highest Guitar Hero score of all time, to be included in the hallowed ranks of record holders. Gamers can upload their scores to the Gamers Edition website at gamers.guinnessworldrecords.com [http://gamers.guinnessworldrecords.com].

The Guinness World Records Gamers Edition 2008 is set to hit bookshelves on February 8.

Sounds like a fairly entertaining read, I'll have to look out for it when I recover from the January sales.

From the headline, I thought they were going to make a video game based off of Guinness World Records.

Now THAT would be cool. Or not.

At least very easy to make. Steal some Minigame Ideas from Raving Rabbids, the Jackass Game and Random Olympia titles and stretch thier length over hours...


I'm not very fascinated by that book. The only Guiness Book of Records i possess had a fairly good gaming session, and although i find certain speedrun and highscore Videos on Youtube fairly entertaining, the idea of having a book full of Game-Highscores, Sales Numbers and some mildly interesting anecdotes sounds boring to me
