Publisher's Club Discount Ends at Midnight Tonight!

Time's running out for you to take advantage of the early discount on Publisher's Club membership.

In case you're not up on everything the Publisher's Club has to offer, our very own Archon spelled it out pretty well when we first announced it about two weeks ago [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/publishers-note/7424-Publisher-Note-8-Publisher-s-Club], but here are some highlights: a custom title, video downloads for your iPhone, ad-free viewing of the site, an exclusive section of the forum, and your very own pony.

The going rate for Pub Club membership has been discounted by 50% for our members, but as of midnight tonight (that's EDT), it goes back to its regular rate of $20 per year. We like to think that's still a pretty good deal, but wanted to give you a heads up that the clock was ticking on the discount, just the same.

Click here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/registration/subscribe] to join the Club and support The Escapist - we now also accept PayPal.

Oh, and I may have been lying about the pony. Sorry.

Only problem I have with this is that you don't have an option to gift it to other forum members.
If there was such an option, I can think of one or two people I would have paid for besides myself...

Already a member, miss.

I wish to tell people that if they are no the fence about doing it...Don't worry. YOU CAN GET A REFUND BY KILLING THE HOOKER.

And the ads are replaced by a "Motto of the Moment", and some "Things About Stuff", which are funny gaming graphs and stuff.

Also, you support the Escapist every time you come here!

This is just extra support.

So that's why you became a member! :p

I would subscribe but I'm not too sure what the age limit is in England for paying for stuff digitally (debit/ credit cards etc.), which is one of the few things that's putting me off joining.

If I'm still here next year, think of this as a potential birthday present, even though it won't have the discount anymore by then.

That's actually a very nice idea. We'll have to see what we can do about that. :)

So you didn't hear me whining about it all that time on IRC? ;~;
I don't think Virgil or Kross heard me whining about it either >.>

Personally the ad-free pages and the ability to watch video on my Motorola DROID has been more than worth it.

Although I would like to see my motto in the MOTM someday...

I really think the features given to PubClub members need to be doubled, or that the $10 price stays permanent, If not, I won't be paying for another year.

Escapist, you know I love you, but what I got was worth about $5 to me, so I gave $5 as charity, sorry, but $15 charity is too much for me to give to this site.

The podcasts are nice, but Jesus, could they have made them any harder to use?

You have to download each video individually, and rename them all from the jumbled gibberish default names.

I wish it was like an Itunes Podcast, where they had proper names and you could "get all" with a single click.

Damnit! I really want to sign up, but my parents refuse to pay. (they hate using credit cards on the internet)

I guess I'll never join..... *sniffle*

I was actually referring to the ability to watch Zero Punctuation, ENN, RMM, etc... When the videos were Flash player based I could not watch them on my Droid. I think they switched to the YouTube player or HTML5 for Mobile, which works great. I have not tried the Podcasts yet.

Noooooooo! My pony!!!!
:)

I'm already signed up, and have been since shortly after it was announced; I think the stuff that I was already getting plus the toys is worth $10 a year to me. I'm not entirely convinced it'll be worth $20 to me next year though. (After all, I don't have an iPhone or other podcast-watching device, and I don't really mind ads.) But I guess we'll find out then.
