505 Games' Adrift Gets New Trailer at Game Awards

505 Games' first-person game set in a debris-filled space station was shown off in a world premiere trailer at tonight's awards.

Bucking the sub-60-second teaser trend at The Game Awards, 505 Games unveiled this world premiere trailer for Adrift earlier tonight. Described on its announced earlier this year [http://www.505games.com/games/adr1ft], though we haven't seen much about it until tonight.

The trailer shows an astronaut floating aimlessly through a space station that appears to be falling apart before making his or her way into the great vastness of space. According to 505 Games' description, "The player fights to stay alive by exploring the wreckage for precious resources, and overcomes the challenges of an unforgiving environment to repair the damaged emergency escape vehicle and safely return home."

Adrift is due out next summer.

This could be pretty good. Survival, space, no gravity, I love those but I'm not sure this is for me. I can't explain it but I feel like I'm about to get a panic attack when my character starts drowning or falling from high places. I felt my heart start beating faster when I noticed the low oxygen bar and it getting lower. And that's just from a trailer.

Maybe not as strong as panic attack, maybe butterflies in my stomach would be a better description. Similar things happen when I jump from very high places in Minecraft even if I know there is 2 or more blocks of water down there and I'm safe. This will be on my watch list.

Shit, I just realized how awful it would be for me to play this with VR or the Oculus.
