Sucker Punch: inFamous 2 Will Induce A "Heart Attack"

If you thought inFamous was good, Sucker Punch thinks you'll die after playing the sequel.

inFamous 2 was recently revealed as the cover story in the latest Game Informer magazine. Details on the title have gushed out from the issue's insides, including how the sequel will progress the series' morality system and why all the ladies will swoon over the new Cole.

PSInformer [http://playstationinformer.wordpress.com/] describes the entire feature, and transcribed a few quotes from developer Sucker Punch. inFamous 2 will reportedly have bigger bosses (which weren't too small in the first game) and could include new online features. Cole has a new sexy look for the fall season too, but the big change seems to be in the game's evolved morality system.

PlayStation 3 exclusive inFamous [http://www.amazon.com/Infamous-Playstation-3/dp/B000ZK7ZOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1276196080&sr=1-1] allowed players to make either good or evil choices. Healing pedestrians and completing good missions unlocked unique good powers and gave protagonist Cole a friendly look. The opposite unlocked evil powers and made Cole look quite nasty. Aside from a major choice or two, the division between good and evil was quite obvious.

inFamous 2 won't be so cut-and-dry. "There are bigger consequences to your choices, and it's not really obvious what's good and bad," Sucker Punch says. "Morality is certainly a big part of the product. And we are committed to making it impactful and meaningful, and have it be something you feel is responsive to how you're playing the game." This sounds similar to what BioWare did with Dragon Age [http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-PC-Games/dp/B001IK1BWC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1276196143&sr=1-1].

Sucker Punch also says that it hopes to give everyone that enjoyed the first game a "heart attack" with the sequel's improvements. inFamous was quite good, so a heart attack-level second game would be very welcome.

I understand the need for exciting action,
but I nonetheless must exclaim my disagreement with coronary dysfunctions during my play time.

Interesting how they'll evolve the moral choice system, but I really feel like at the end of the day you're either choosing between an Electro-Batman or an Electro-Hitler, with no middle ground.

EDIT: Electro-Batman is officially my new definition of awesome.

Ah, I love how companies are becoming more like extreme fanboys every day. It makes me feel smart.

*Grumble* I was fine with the black and white morality choices in the first game. It made the game FEEL more like an action hero drama. I like to keep my morally gray choices to my RPG's, thank you.

Well that sounds interesting.

I enjoyed the first one. And despite the black/white morality system I found it pretty fun. Its also pretty neat how people cheer you if your good, and throw crap at you if your bad.

I loved the first, but I'm always skeptical when it comes to improved morality systems. They never seem to change much, and the choices are still pretty much always black and white.

But hey, lets hope they prove me wrong.

It's funny how when a thing is said to give you a
'heart attack' it's a good thing, but things that give you seizures are bad and get intense warning labels, especially since heart attacks have a higher chance of killing you. Maybe the higher risk of death = more appealing. Can't wait till inFamous 3 gives everyone cancer.

I'm joking of course but honestly could they have not said "We hope no-one gets a heart attack from this awesome heart-attack inducing game because Heart attacks are bad but this game is so awesome it might give you one through sheer awesomeness" instead of "We hope whoever plats this game gets a heart attack" It's funny because they worded it like they want the players to die.

I don't care about anything going on this article other than the fact that there will be a sequel to inFamous, one of my all time favorite games. I can't wait for this thing to come out and get a heart attack from it! It's great to see one of the best PS3 exclusive games develop into a series.

Yeah, that's cool and all, but where the hell is Sly Cooper 4?

Also, why does Cole look like a completely different person?
