Penny Arcade Expo Announces PAX 10

The 2008 Penny Arcade Expo [http://www.pennyarcadeexpo.com/] will be putting independent games in the spotlight by way of the PAX 10, highlighting some of the best independent projects currently in development.

Selected by a panel of 50 industry experts, including Penny Arcade [http://www.penny-arcade.com] creators Gabe and Tycho, the PAX 10 will feature the top ten independent games submitted for consideration based on gameplay and "fun factor." Winners will have their creations displayed in the PAX Exhibit Hall, and will also vie for the "Audience Choice Award," selected by attendees.

According to Penny Arcade's Robert Khoo, the upcoming event looks set to surpass the attendance record of 37,000 set by the NCsoft [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penny_Arcade_Expo#PAX_2007]and many others.

Submissions to the PAX 10 contest will be accepted until May 7. Developers who think they've got what it takes can find more information and contest submission links at www.pennyarcadeexpo.com [http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/27819].

It was so boring last year! We got flown down to go. We went for an hour every day and the show of game developers was awful and so was the room set up. I honestly hope they fix it.

You flew down to PAX and spent only an hour a day at the show?

Ya it was so boring. We had more fun in the outside walking around Seattle. I just think that it was small and unorganized. I think I may just be jaded from so many other conventions. Its the same thing over and over. But with PAX its the same thing over and over. But its the things that the other conventions didnt do so well with. I mean dont get me wrong Awesome Warhammer was there... oooh but they still hadent fixed the game play or the quest outline with the giant circles that tell you where to go.
