PETA Unveils Fur Fighters Game

Burberry [http://www.peta.org/].

In Bloody Burberry: The Fur Fighters [http://www.burberry.com/], players take on the role of a devastatingly cute fox, raccoon or rabbit in the ongoing struggle against fur. The three-level game begins by turning players loose in a Burberry store, where they must spraypaint "no fur" messages on various coats and stoles while dodging in-store security, then moves to a runway fashion show in which players must flash anti-Burberry signs in front of models who are "too dumb to know better," before culminating in a Burberry abattoir showdown with Cruella de Vil-like Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts.

Although the game opens with a screen saying, "It's time to take matters into your own hands!" there is also a disclaimer prior to the start of gameplay which reads, "Before you play this game, please remember - unless you're a raccoon, fox or rabbit (and thus not subject to human laws) - it's still illegal to paint things that don't belong to you, damage or destroy other people's stuff, and go onto private property, without getting permission first. So please keep your anti-fur antics outside this game frequent and fervent but legal."

Along with the game, PETA's Bloody Burberry site also features links to information about Burberry's use of fur and fur farms as well as a link to a petition calling for a boycott of Burberry until it stops using fur. To check out the game, which can be played online or downloaded for the PC or Mac, hop on over to bloodyburberry.com [http://www.bloodyburberry.com/features/fur_fighters/index.asp].

I have this strange impulse to go buy a fur coat and then wear it to a steak house.

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of PETA... I can get behind the SPCA's stance, but PETA pretty much wants to give animals the vote.

When you said "Fur Fighters" I thought of this game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fur_Fighters . How I wished they'd make a sequel.

he Juxtaposition of a cute little animal and dripping red paint the same consistency of blood makes me a bit ill. Also, I wonder how much the designer of that game laughed the whole time he/she/it made it.
I'd die laughing, and make the controls horrible on purpose.

Why do all the supposedly cute animals have one eye a lot bigger than the other, they all (the fox especially) look as if they are on some kind of narcotics.

If it's anything like Conker's Bad Fur Day, I'm all for it! The end boss should be Scorpion... wearing a dead rabbit or something. I just want to see a fox fight Scorpion.

We should get PETA to play Postal 2. They would love to see what running with scissors has in store for cats.

Y'know, I bet PETA could raise some mad cash if they developed a furry centric MMORPG...
