Unity Engine Ported to iPhone
Unity Technologies has adapted their Unity engine to the iPhone.
Unity Technologies, a 3-D middleware provider that specializes in improving graphics for web games, will bring its core product, the Unity engine, which powers titles in places such as Shockwave.com, to the iPhone platform.
"With iPhone support, Unity is poised to become the single source for game developers who want to create best-of-breed, 3D-quality games that can be easily and quickly ported to all platforms, including consoles, devices, PC/Mac, and now, the iPhone," said David Helgason, CEO of Unity Technologies. "Specifically, Unity's support of iPhone addresses the developer's need to create more and better mobile/portable games that support the consumers 'on-the-go' lifestyle."
Unity Technologies has created an iPhone beta program that will provide hands-on support to drive 3D content creation and deployment of mobile games. Game developers who are interested in joining the iPhone support program should contact Unity at [email protected]
