Nadeo Announces New Free Trackmania Game

Trackmania Nations [http://www.nadeo.com/], which will become available on April 16.

Trackmania Nations Forever will also be a free download, offering a new "Forever" version of the Trackmania Nations stadium along with a "solid" single player mode and 65 brand new tracks of increasing difficulty. The game will also expand upon the multiplayer capabilities of the original, with new multiplayer modes, online functionality and "revolutionary interactivity" between players, and as always, the vaunted Trackmania Nations track editor will feature prominently.

"The PC is the only game platform that allows players to easily create additional game content, and the game comes with powerful creative tools like the track editor," said Nadeo Studio Director Florent Castelnerac. "We increased creative possibilities even more with richer, more complete editors while making creation more accessible to a larger number of players with a simplified track editor. Tomorrow, we will see exceptional creations from the four corners of the world that players will be able to exchange for free and easily. It's a tremendous motivation for the entire development team."

Another big change featured in the new version of the game will be multiplayer compatibility with the retail version of Trackmania United [http://www.trackmanianations.com/]on servers that use the Stadium environment. Players of both versions will be able to compete against one another and exchange tracks, and owners of Trackmania United will also get a free update to United Forever, which will include new tracks and design blocks and a "spectacular"graphics update for the game's three environments.

Trackmania Nations Forever will be released on April 16. For more information, drive excessively fast and dangerously to tm-united.com [http://www.tm-united.com/eng/index.php?lang=en&rub=news_info&id=83].

Hmm, I like Trackmania, I like free, and I own TM United so I don't even have to think about this one.

The entire Trackmania series is fantastic. I own them all except United and every one of them has been a blast in single and multiplayer modes. Add to that Nadeo's absolutely insane policy of essentially giving away as many games as they sell, not to mention their huge (and free) expansions to their retail products and it's really a no-brainer. This is the kind of company, and franchise, that really deserves our support.
