PopCap Launches Promotion to Help Fight Breast Cancer

PopCap Games [http://www.popcap.com]has launched the Give Back for Mother's Day promotion, in which the company will donate 30 percent of its sales to the fight against breast cancer.

Until Mother's Day on May 11, PopCap will donate 30 percent of all sales from its website to Susan G. Komen for the Cure [http://cms.komen.org/komen/index.htm], a foundation dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer. The casual games publisher has set a goal of $100,000 in donations, and has promised a free gift for everyone who purchases a PopCap game during the program if the mark is met. The donation process is automated, and covers every game in the PopCap catalog as well as gift certificate purchases.

"For this year's Mother's Day promotion, we wanted to make a significant contribution to a cause that relates directly to mothers, and this seemed like an ideal way to do that," said PopCap Vice President of Marketing Ben Rotholtz. "Susan G. Komen for the Cure is dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer, which obviously affects many mothers and their families. If the contribution we make saves even one life down the road, it will be a success in our eyes."

"For more than 25 years, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been on a mission to end breast cancer forever," added Katrina McGhee of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "Partners such as PopCap are an integral part of that mission, helping us reach millions of consumers with life-saving breast health messages and raising funds that support breast cancer research and community health programs."

Founded in 1982, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has become the world's largest source of nonprofit funds for breast cancer research, raising over $1 billion in events like the Give Back for Mother's Day promotion [http://www.nationalraceforthecure.org/].
