PSP Knights in the Nightmare Includes Free Bonus Game
Deciding that an art book just isn't enough this time, Atlus has announced that every copy of [http://www.amazon.com/Knights-Nightmare-Sony-PSP/dp/B003S55EXC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1283972173&sr=8-1] will come with a free second game.
Sting's handheld games - Riviera, Yggdra Union, and the like - have this interesting history of appearing on a Nintendo handheld and then being remade for the PlayStation Portable the next year. Their latest, Knights in the Nightmare is no exception. The strategy-meets-shooter hybrid, which was originally released for the DS last year, will hit the PSP this November with a number of enhancements in tow. To celebrate one of these tweaks, the addition of a character from Sting's earlier games, Atlus has announced that all copies of Knights in the Nightmare will come with a free digital copy of Yggdra Union.
Knights in the Nightmare is a strategy role-playing game where battles take place in real time on an isometric grid. Players give orders by moving a glowing Wisp onto a unit. The title incorporates an interesting shooter element - the Wisp is constantly under enemy fire, so the player must simultaneously dodge shots while commanding and moving their characters around the map.
The upcoming remake has been enhanced to take advantage of the PSP's graphics capabilities, including higher resolution and the wide screen. The game will also feature new cinematics from Yukio Takatsu - of Persona fame - and a new playable character, Princess Yggdra of Sting's Yggdra Union.
Knights in the Nightmare will hit American stores and the PlayStation Network on November 9th. To celebrate Yggdra's inclusion in the game and to fill players in on some of Knights' back story, Atlus will include a free digital copy of Yggdra Union with all purchases - physical or digital - for some limited frame of time.
Atlus has traditionally thrown in all sorts of stuff to get people to buy their games. Don't get me wrong - an art book or a soundtrack is nice, but a whole extra game sounds like a pretty fantastic incentive to give the thing a try.
