I do, however, make a conscious effort every day not to take modern technology for granted. Not to mention bitching about minor incoveniences of miracles of science absolutely smacks of entitlement and the dreaded "White People Problems".

At the time (I'm guessing about 1987/88ish) this was just an April Fools gag. But this is now a piece of technology that most of us take for granted.
