God of War Collection Erupting Onto PSN

The biggest name in bloody, god-killing action will soon be available in a refreshing and entirely digital flavor.

Sony has announced that the remastered versions of the first two God of War games, also known as the God of War: Collection [http://www.amazon.com/God-War-Collection-Playstation-3/dp/B002NN7AKU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1287659827&sr=8-1], will be available to buy via PSN next month, allowing gamers to play at being a hyper-violent killing machine, without having to go outside and run the risk of actually meeting one.

Both games have been updated with 720p graphics, anti-aliasing, and a sustained frame rate of 60fps, meaning you won't get any annoying slowdown when you're pulling the wings off harpies and hitting people in their stupid, Ancient Greek faces. Sony has also added trophies to the games to make it easier to separate the real Spartans from the posers.

The US blog [http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/10/20/god-of-war-collection-on-the-playstation-store-112/] has no word on pricing, but over on the UK blog [http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/10/20/the-god-of-war-collection-is-coming-to-playstation-store/], Sony has slapped on a price tag of £13.99 /€17.99 for each game individually, or £23.99/€29.99 for the pair. As the collection costs $29.99 to buy in stores on an actual disk, it seems pretty likely that those numbers will be about right for the dollar prices as well.

Unfortunately, if you buy the games digitally, you won't receive any of the bonus content that comes with the disc version. Unless, of course, you're a PS Plus subscriber, in which case you still don't get the bonus content on the disc, but you do get an exclusive God of War skin when you buy either game. God of War: Collection hits PSN on November 2nd.

I'm still getting the disc version. My Internet dies on its feet if it so much as buffers a Youtube vid, and the fact its cheaper on disc for them both.

Please do this with all the best PS2 games Sony! A fair pricing too which is unusual (Hint hint Xboc on demand: £20 for Gears of War when I can buy it for £3 on disc? I'm alright, thanks.)

I've never had the pleasure of playing these games, but I do in fact have Sony's giant black monolith standing in my living room (or my second paycheck, as I like to call it). Why not, $30 for both games is a good deal...

Alright, this seems delicious. What are the bonus contents though? Behind the scenes stuff or whatever? I can live without that, but tis a shame.

I'm loving these new collections, it's a great way for me to relive past experience with more incentive and an awesome way for me to grab an old game I haven't played. The Team ICO Collection is supposed to have 3D in it, so I'm going to mooch off my friend's 3DTV to play it in.

Damn. Battling Collosi in 3D! That'll by funkay...

Where do they get there pricing from ? seriously its fucking stupid, i bought it brand new cheaper than that when it launched, and mine was a import from america.. even with post and packaging it was cheaper, now they have a free way to distribute stuff and they charge more, no disks no manual no box no labor to pack it, no fuel to distribute it across countrys/states and best of all there cutting out the fucking middle man...

But yet its more expensive, seriously sony/MS get a fucking grip.
I agree, especially with steam around, £12 and £19 for l4d 1 and 2 respecitvely, yet in the shops left 4 dead 1 (without the non free dlc) is still about £20, with l4d2 coming in at £25. And they both went down to £4 and £6 in a recent sale for a week. Steam have no problem doing this, why do microsoft and psn have it?

True, I always prefer physical to digital to be honest. I think the thing is, discs get cheaper at the whims of the stores that sell them, while digital titles can stay the same price forever if the ones responsible wish it.

This. Also, the entire UK psn could do with a serious stock update... Just the PS1 collection is abysmal compared to what the JP and American lot get!
This. Already have this on disk (though it took a stupidly long time to cross the Atlantic) so won't be getting it.
