Lindsay Lohan Will No Longer Play Porn Star in Biopic

Watchmen's Malin Akerman will be replacing Lindsay Lohan in Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story.

Lindsay Lohan's having a rough time of it. First she goes to jail, then she heads to rehab, now she's unable to be insured and can't play porn star Linda Lovelace. Lohan was to play the Deep Throat actress in Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story. HitFix is reporting that director Matthew Wilder (Your Face Here) "attached" Lohan to the project, then "presold the picture at the 2010 Cannes Film Market to raise funding." Lohan's recent shenanigans have made the film impossible to insure with her in the picture, so Malin Akerman has been called to the role.

The film is based on Lovelace's book Ordeal: An Autobiography, in which she claims her participation in the film Deep Throat was forced. Lovelace was a staunch anti-pornography activist until her death in 2002. It sounds an interesting role, but I can't help but wonder if not starring in a biopic of a porn star will be better for Lohan's career than starring in it might have been.

As for the current casting, Akerman's credits include 27 Dresses, Couple's Retreat, and The Heartbreak Kid, but most of us nerds remember her as Laurie Jupiter, the infamous Silk Spectre II in 2009's Watchmen. In that film, she was featured in the most laughable love scene I've ever had to sit through. I won't be seeing it, but Inferno should be interesting.

I remember seeing an interview with the director saying he would not kick Lindsay from the movie. Hmm, guess she had it coming though.

Do you mean rather graphic scene aboard Archie the floating Owl thing. I thought that was meant to be other the top as was making a point about the unrealistic nature of sex displayed in movies. And with the climax of a flamethrower wasn't it just making fun of cliché male fantasies a bit?

Just wiki'd this Miss Lovelace person, she, assuming wiki is true, seemed to have a pretty awful life. Between the torture and gang rape. So if this is done tastefully I think it could be a worthwhile film to make.

When I first saw her in that outfit in Watchman I said "Dayyyymmmm" for about ten minutes straight so I think shed fit a movie about a porn actress.

Im not going to watch it though, sounds incredibly boring.

Well, she already played a stripper in that one crapfest movie and she just did a topless scene in Machete, so I can't imagine playing a porn star is too much a stretch. She clearly has the drug abuse and cognitive abilities down to a tee.

I remember that totally pointless sex scene that didnt add anything to the movie. I had been watchin' it with my dad I think which made it even more awkward. :(

Well I think the film will be better for it. Lindsay Lohan was a bad actress, and just got worse. Also how can she not be insured? Is it like a busted up wreck of a car where the insurance is worth more than the car? How do you insure an actress?

True, but it was still quite a hilariously odd scene.

Meh.. doesnt matter. The only reason why she was attached to this was it was her excuse to the judge for not putting her on probationary travel restrictions. Now that shes dealt with that, she has no reason to bother with something that will take time away from her coke habit.

Was Lovelace always anti-porn? I thought she tended to flip flop on the subject.
From Wikipedia:

"In her first two biographies, Linda Boreman characterizes making the film as a liberating experience; in her third and fourth biographies (written after making the acquaintance of anti-pornography activist Andrea Dworkin), she charges that she did not consent to many of the depicted sexual acts and that she was coerced to perform by her abusive husband, Chuck Traynor, who received $1,250 for her acting."

Not a movie I was partiularly desperate to see whoever was in it. But it looks like they will only by taking from the Anti-porn biographys. But I agree poor woman seemed to get a pretty sh!ty deal out of life....

WHAT? Malin Akerman is a terrible dramatic actress (then again, Watchmen was plagued by bad actors, excepting Jackie Earle Haley).

Simmer down people. The main character in the biopic is being portrayed by the lead actress of one of the better comic book - movie adaptations to date. Last time I checked, comic books and movies are covered under the umbrella of 'escapism'. If the movie was not about a woman who did porn, the news would still be relevant to the site.

Leave your hangups at the door please.

Wow, I'm completely indifferent. IGNORE ME!

OT: Seriously though, I couldn't care less. I guess Lindsay will just go back to her old lifestyle of... Oh wait, she never left that lifestyle.
