Dead Rising Producer Outlines His Grand Plan for the Future

Keiji Inafune says that he wants to make the games he could never make while at Capcom.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Capcom's former head of R&D and production, Keiji Inafune - who unexpectedly resigned [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/104836-Mega-Man-Creator-Quits-the-Game] last month - has started a new blog [http://inafking.exblog.jp/] and used the first post to explain how he'll be spending his time, now that he has so very much of it to himself.

Inafune, who also helped design the character Mega Man, said that he wanted to make the games he was never able to make when he was a "salaryman" - a common term used to describe people who work in Japanese corporations. Besides working on console games, he also wanted to delve into the world of social and casual gaming, because he thought that it was an area that developers couldn't afford to overlook. He also expressed in interest in non-game projects, saying that hopes to find time to work on movies, books, and manga.

He said that he hadn't started working on any projects yet, but that when he did, he would update his blog and let people know. He added that his departure from Capcom would be meaningless if he didn't use his newfound freedom to push himself and improve on what he'd done in the past.

While at Capcom, Inafune was a very vocal critic of the Japanese videogame industry, saying that it was getting left behind by the West [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/103614-Dead-Rising-2-Producer-Blasts-Japanese-Game-Industry]. He also made no secret of the fact that he didn't enjoy his job [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/104301-Dead-Rising-2-Producer-Hates-His-Job], expressing his dissatisfaction just weeks before his resignation.

Cool. You make the games and I will play them.

Also that's a pretty sweet picture of X you found for the article.

Another overblown news article title. Excuse me if I now proceed to vomit with an 'overblown' case of nausea.
