Iconic Zone of the Enders Mecha Coming to a Desktop Near You

Fans of Hideo Kojima's Zone of the Enders mecha combat series will finally be able to have the protagonist's giant robot in a nifty plastic model form.

Sorry folks, it isn't Woody the Cowboy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95586-Kojima-Promises-Zone-of-the-Enders-3] thrown in.

Apparently taking a break from releasing its umpteenth Neon Genesis Evangelion model, Kaiyodo announced it would be adding one of the most oft-requested mecha to the Revoltech line: the Jehuty from Hideo Kojima's Zone of the Enders. CyberGundam [http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/iam-cybergundam/article?mid=64709] snapped some shots of the Jehuty prototype in various color schemes, and it looks just like the real thing - giant robot codpiece and all.

Sadly, there's likely no connection between this Jehuty action figure and a rebirth of the long-dormant ZOE franchise, for those of us who like to look a bit too deeply into things. Kaiyodo puts out new action figures for series that haven't been running for years, and just because the Revoltech line is just now getting around to Zone of the Enders doesn't mean a new game is on the way [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/99896-Hideo-Kojimas-Next-Game-Will-Feature-Mecha].

That said, it's still a Jehuty Revoltech, and that's friggin' sweet! ZOE fans (and giant robot fans) can take the Jehuty home when it releases on April 15th for 2,850 yen ($34.49).

I'd get it, but I don't think there's any more room here on my mecha shelves here at work. Alas.

Speaking of Gundams why are Perfect Grade Gundams AU$350-400? How much is it in the US and is there an online store I can import from?

I usually get mine from HLJ. Looks like the PG Strike Freedom is running $242 US [http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN965506], don't know what that is in AUD.

Unfortunately, I've always hated the 'cockpit' design of the mechs in ZOE. Fortunately, the camera is from the back and it hardly ever comes up (even less in ZOE2).

Great game. ZOE2 is on my top 10 of all time and one of the few franchises that needs a sequel.

I've been waiting for this for years, although it looks like it's ZOE1 Jehuty and not any of the even nicer looking ZOE2 versions. I hope this does well enough for them that they do more. I'd love Anubis, Naked Jehuty from ZOE2 and, of course, Vic Viper (maybe even Dolores from the TV series, although only if it comes with that giant ball gown).
