Atari Says Sorry With Free Test Drive Unlimited 2 DLC

Atari will give away the first premium DLC update for Test Drive Unlimited 2 [http://www.amazon.com/Test-Drive-Unlimited-2-Xbox-360/dp/B002I0HD9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1298497312&sr=8-1] as a way of saying sorry to the community for all the bugs and issues that plagued the game when it shipped.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 from Atari [http://www.eden-games.com/home_en.php] was apparently in pretty rough shape when it shipped earlier this month. Among the more serious problems affecting the game were difficulty logging in and staying connected to online servers, spontaneously corrupting save games, busted friends lists and invites, and various money-related exploits. A patch has already gone live for the PC and is awaiting approval from Microsoft and Sony for their platforms, but Eden and Atari are taking the extra step of throwing players a bone for their trouble.

"Thank you for your continued support and feedback. Our community has been amazing and helped us quickly identify a number of issues, which we have made significant progress in addressing in the upcoming patches," Atari wrote in a message on the Test Drive Unlimited 2 forum [http://forums.testdriveunlimited2.com/showpost.php?p=424005&postcount=1].

"We really appreciate your patience in this matter and we would like to announce that we will be making the first premium DLC for the game free for everybody as a way of saying thank you. The Exploration Pack contains new wrecks to be discovered that unlock the Lancia Stratos version Rallye and 1969 Dodge Charger," it continued. "We now have fixes for all of the following issues that have already gone live on PC and will follow shortly once patches are approved by Microsoft and Sony, respectively."

A full list of the issues fixed:

Logging into the game has been improved
Once into the game the online network experience is now much more stable in all areas
Save games no longer corrupt
Existing corrupted save games will be repaired in many cases
Friends lists are now populated
Invites now work correctly
Clubs have been brought back online
Exploits to gain money have been fixed
Casino access has been improved
Players will no longer lose money because of the Casino bug

Atari said the development team spends a lot of time keeping up with feedback from the community and invited users to continue posting problems and comments in the TDU2 forums. I think that's a pretty fair response, don't you?

It would if half these bugs hadn't been sent in to the Dev's during the Beta (At least 3 of them raised by me) at least a month before release.

If some 1 bought this on the PC the only way Atari could apologize is by returning your money back and letting you spit the developer.

Ninja'd!!! I refer to it as Bugout: New Vegas.
Yea. Bethesda/Obsidian needs to do something like this for the people who bought Freezeout New Vegas but only after they actually fix it. And you know that's not going to happen.
I wouldn't even download free dlc for that thing, it barely works as it is.
Really at this point all I want from Vegas is my money back but I think that's all anyone wants from that town.
