That is so awesome. I should totally set up a company that sells cheap ice cream cones and have a disclaimer on the boxes.

Ok so I'm an atheist and henceforth don't actually believe in souls, but I do have a question for people who do believe in souls.

Do souls actually belong to people, or do they belong to their specific deity? (Yaweh, Jesus, Allah, etc.) If it turns out that they do own your souls, do those deity's have a legal department to recoup their holdings? (Souls.)
What the hell does that have to do with anything? Off-Topic: I believe that your soul belongs to you, but after death you inhabit your soul instead of your body and go to wherever the hell you're supposed to. I think. Also, just because you're atheist doesn't mean you can't believe in souls. Would be nice if people knew what their religion or lack thereof was actually about before calling themselves part of it.

Pure awesomeness, I'm glad I didn't buy anything from them on that day because I never read those damn things.

It has to do with the topic because I am bewildered by the very concept of buying a soul as I've heard multiple versions of what a soul is. And since I haven't heard a consistent definition of what a soul is, how can GameStation claim a thing that at best has a nebulous definition. (Conceptually, obviously they were joking...)

I didn't say that an atheist couldn't believe in souls, however as they are a nebulous and poorly defined subject I don't actually know any other atheists who believe in souls.

And to assume that Atheists are about anything beyond the rejection of belief in a higher power beyond the measurable world around them is completely ignorant. Most Atheists don't attend meetings, and they don't even have a community like religions often do. And yes, as I have been an Atheist all of my life and not an Agnostic, I do know what I believe in. (Not that I claim any sort of exclusive authority on Atheism. But I know what I believe in.)

Wow that's intresting. At least they added the non-transfer clause so if the company goes under you might be released. Although knowing a little bit about the supernatural, it seems to me if you signed this even jokingly you might get stuck in the physical world when you die as your soul would be trapped here. You will have to spend eternity trying to get them to give your soul back or maybe you will have to beat the game a million times or something.

On a side note, it reminds me of this Hindu kid in school that LITERALLY was buying souls for a quarter in class. He bought like 5 or something at a quarter a pop. They did sign the form so who knows. Maybe when you die you can just pick their soul to go for you and you get to live again. Or maybe the guy lost a quarter here and there. Only time will tell.

Wow, that is definitely a funny thing to put into the ToS. Too bad my soul is already jointly owned by the Escapist and my local EB Games.

I'd be more annoyed missed out on the five quid than the soul business.
