New Trackmania 2 Trailer Reveals "The Canyon"

A hot new Trackmania 2 "Canyon" trailer shows off an awesome new environment in the world's most over-the-top racing game.

No, United [http://www.amazon.com/TrackMania-PC/dp/B000QRABQU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1303862576&sr=8-1] and their expansions - this trailer has me really excited about the long-awaited Trackmania 2.

TM2 was actually trackmania.com [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/94854-Trackmania-2-Unveiled].

Hopefully, this means we're closer to getting any news on Shootmania or Questmania. Far more interesting concepts in my opinion, since Trackmania 2 seems to be more been there-done that.

Will this be F2P like the first?
The first (Trackmania) was a commercial game. So was the second (Trackmania Sunrise). The third (Trackmania Nations) was free, but limited. Then they released a paid compilation version (Trackmania United), making this the fifth. And yes, you buy it.

Oh yeah! Looking forward to the track editor!

By the way, is it still PC-only?

Trackmania is my favorite PC racer. So many countless hours wasted trying to perfect those quadruple loops with holes, then corkscrews, then towers.. it goes on... oh no, i feel my addiction coming back

TM2 was actually unveiled [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/94854-Trackmania-2-Unveiled] back in September 2009 at the Paris Game Festival, but I haven't heard a thing about it since. Fortunately, it appears that the gang at Nadeo hasn't been pulling a Valve, because this Canyon trailer looks seriously hot.
Seems to me like this game is on the right track

Actually it was pretty funny.

Watching that trailer reminded me that I really need to get back into Trackmania Nations. Man, the user-made tracks for Nations were absolutely amazing.

So far the only F2P Trackmania has been Nations, although Nadeo has done a fantastic job of supporting the other games with free expansions and upgrades - so for instance, buy Trackmania Sunrise, get the TM Sunrise Forever add-on (whatever you want to call it) free. And since the TM games have been bargain-priced (United was the most expensive and even it only went for about 30 bucks, as I recall) the whole franchise has been a hell of a deal so far.

Not sure what platforms TM2 will be out on, but there are Wii and DS versions of Trackmania.

I haven't seen the DS version anywhere in New Zealand. Which is a damned shame, since I love TrackMania... I have the original game - not TrackMania Original, mine is the first game in the series - although I can't play multiplayer on it. But if I want multiplayer, I'll break out Nations Forever and go shooting through all the insanely awesome tracks people have made.

I used to have United on my old Steam account (don't hack, stay in school), and I can't wait for TM2. Also...

Gotta love TrackMania. I really wish more game developers would produce these crazy, over the top, mega air, trick racers like these guys and ExciteTruck. One thing I had a problem with in United was Stadium and Island were the only tracks that regularly satisfied my lust for adrenaline inducing racing. This game's Canyon seems to be on the track (okay, yeah, that's a pun, and the other guy made it earlier, but in all seriousness the expression fits well) and hopefully so will the others.

*HEAD-SMACK!!!!*

That was stupid.

Anyways sure Trackmania is not a realistic game. Realistic games are BORING and DULL. However Trackmania is still the BEST racing game series there is!!!!

Oh and this is more or less Trackmania 5.

Screw realism! Fun comes over that stuff every day of the week. Well, maybe not on Thursday, cause that's realism day. But that aside, fun wins.
When i saw the cars doing a loop, i was really hyped.
Looks damn cool and fun. Do want.

They've got such a PC fanbase they'd be fools to miss out on that.

But I can see this doing well on consoles as well, maybe a Steamworks PSN/PC partnership (if they ever fix PSN) would do wonders.
