Wow, this is a horrible list. No, most of these games will NOT make holiday time more fun, they'll remind everyone why they hated old board games. No, no one is going to laugh at "wood for sheep" jokes. Catan is old enough to vote at this point, no one hasn't heard that joke before.

Cranium is the only one on that list I'd agree with, and it's just a mash-up of every party game out there. Want something more interesting and still on the light and fun side of things? Try The Resistance. If you have a larger group, 2 Rooms and a Boom (which is free to print and play!). Heck, break out something like Jenga for a dexterity game that's still quite fun.

Just please, do not listen to this generally horrid list.

This is almost as bad as the list from January [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/features/galleryoftheday/10907-8-Old-Board-Games-That-are-Still-Good].

I'll just say what I did back then: Cracked did this so much better [http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-board-games-that-ruined-it-everyone/], not in the least because they have a grasp of English grammar. (Seriously, what is up with this?)

Also, this is still my favorite commentary on Monpoly [http://www.qwantz.com/index.php?comic=1944].

This list would have been good back in 1985. Heck, Uno would be a better family game choice than half of these.
