I've finished most of these except for Monkey Island, Gabriel Knight, Syberia, and King's Quest. ...wait that's half of them. Never mind.

REALLY need to emphasise that Telltale Games had nothing to do with Sam & Max Hit the Road. They're responsible for the pair's return in 3 seasons of episodic games, but the original game you show/recommend in this list was by LucasArts.

Also need to point out that the first three King's Quests have free remakes that are superior in every way to the originals, the 20th Anniversary of Gabriel Knight is an absolute travesty that replaces Tim Curry(!) and Day of the Tentacle is getting the Special Edition treatment (hopefully this year, but it's by Double Fine, so probably not).

Oh man, I forgot all about that King's Quest remake. I'm going to add that in.

As to replacing Tim Curry - I feel your pain. it hurt me when I found that out. Love me some Tim Curry.

To be fair, Michael Stemmle worked on the original game and also went over to Telltale and helped make their Sam and Max games as well script writing and design for a fair number of Telltale's better stuff so... technically its fine.

I've been a fan of GK for yeeeears. While I find some things I didn't think worked out entirely well in the 20th anniversary remake, Tim Curry is not one them. The game is not a travesty. I also thought it would be, but it turned out to be a more than decent remake. Most of the voice actors do a damn fine job, and I did not miss Tim Curry at all. At most, I had to stop myself from remembering how a line sounded in the past and just listen to how it sounds in the present I think he's waaay overvalued, since in GK3 he was annoying more than a few times. I did miss Mark Hamill though.

They should have mentioned Lucasarts but I suspect it was a inadvertant omission because most people know them from Telltale now, unless you're an old fart like me who remembers Lucasarts and when Sam and Max would get a cameo in nearly every lucasarts game.

The sad thing is that I am an old fart. I just flat our forgot the Lucasarts connection - maybe I'm senile. That's on me.
