I don't think Borderlands 2 approaches the same standard of wit or creativity as The Stick Of Truth, to be frank. Comedy requires discipline and a certain amount of subtlety, and that it something the former frequently lacks, sometimes hammering an intended joke home until it dies a painful death. Shouting, references and repetition just aren't very clever or creative to me. The first game made me smile and laugh multiple times with its surprisingly dark humour, but they went too far in the wrong direction with the sequel. So I don't think it's a masterpiece, comedy-wise. Mechanically, though, I love it. I could go back to it right now and have a whale of a time blowing things up. I think it's definitely the best game Gearbox have made in that respect.

EDIT: The Brutal Legend video was blocked from being embedded.

Anything with Handsome Jack is better than anything without Handsome Jack. The end.

I played 3 of the 8 games in the list.

Monkey Island- The el pollo diablo, the pirate I meant to be and the off sceen with the sheiff in the first game were hillarious!

Borderland The Pre Sequel (I forgot the comedy part in 2)- The friend zone gag.

South Park and the Stick of truth- The girls club house.

The Deadpool game had me laughing pretty constantly. Was probably one of the only FPS games I'd completed in quite a while..

I wish they'd be honest about it, then; it just says that "playback on other sites has been disabled by the uploader". *Sigh*...these things would be great if they could program themselves without human embuggerances.

Monkey Island isn't a Tim Schafer game. He was one of the writers on it, but it was Ron Gilbert's creation. If in doubt, look at the cover art, it says "A graphic adventure by Ron Gilbert" right on there! :p

Also, Guybrush doesn't become a pirate to save his girlfriend. He doesn't even meet Elaine until he's in the middle of one of his Pirate trials.

But...but...Tales from the Borderlands! That game is so many miles ahead of the borderlands series, i will advertise and praise it to the death (of...something?). Also, credit for the Conker addition. Ahh, the great mighty poo. Had a warm flutter upon hearing Yahtzee's rendition of it in let's drown out. For years i assumed i was the only one.

Edit: Agree with the disagreements on SR series. The comedy always felt two-dimensional. Cheap laughs for stoners (nothing against them, just the complete monghead side of the spectrum). Like they were all jokes seen a thousand times before. No originality. Just same ole family guy-esque tirade. It wears thin, fast. Or maybe i'm miserable. Or desensitised to comedy as have always grown up with it. At least they tried real hard, i guess.

From this list, I found Stick of Truth the most funny. Another game that is not on this list, but had me genuinely laughing is the new Shadow Warrior reimagining from Flying Wild Hog. Most of the dialogue, exspecially the constant banther between Wang and his Demon companion, was spot on and very well written and executed.

I must disagree about Borderlands 2. In regards to Handsome Jack being the funniest. I believe Tiny Tina blows him, and everyone else, out of the water. That girl had me laughing so hard I was in tears at some of her lines. And her DLC was the icing on the cake.
I was too busy hating Jack to really find him funny. Yes, he had his moments to be sure, but most of the time I wanted to end him because of how twisted and evil he was, on top of the fact that he kept insisting that he was a good guy, even after everything he did.

How are Resident Evil 4 and the old Time Crisis Arcade games not on here?! The lines and voice acting in those are damn near Wiseau-ian. Is that a word? Should be...

Portal had a subtle sense of humor, but humor goes to Portal 2. Not only the main game had lots of funny moments, but also the workshop levels had intros that narrated a funny interdimensional conflict.

Very few games that marketed themselves with the "humor" tags have ever even made me smile.

Especially the ones that launch one failed punchline after the other just piss me off. The new Shadow Warrior was a prime example of that: while the original and Duke Nukem were pretty serious games where occasionally something completely wild and outrageous was said and shown; that one just kept trying far too hard. Never even made me smile.

So while I didn't play several of the titles on the list, I don't expect them to be very different in that regard. Except perhaps South Park, because well.. South Park...

Humor for me is something that comes unexpected, that surprises me. Portal was a great example of that. But usually it's mostly bugs or easter eggs + the occasional crazy character that make me laugh in games.

I find the game Odama to be hilarious in a surreal kind of way...

Other than that, both Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends gave my mother and I the chuckling giggles of laughter...
