Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw has been entertaining the internet for nearly eight full years now. How long have *you* been watching?

"Best Episode Ever" seems broken in Chrome: I keep watching the ad, then it ends immediately afterward.

Likewise. PubClub here, and it's just doing nothing for me.

Sigh.... I do sorely miss the times when Yahtzee would spend a lot of time on the scripts!
It's been obvious for years that for example the novels cut into the weekly time spent on it.

That's why are all stuff that has remained popular for so many years.
Can't think of anything recent that'd crack my top ten... and I have watched at least 2 eps each night to relax before bed since 2007. Really, I just love it that much!

The new stuff is still funny, but not as monumentally well-crafted and polished to a mirror shine as the first year stuff (linking back to the most popular video on the site). Btw, my first and still favourite one that I saw on here was Guitar Hero 3. Damn, that's so fucking hilarious it actually staves off suicide for a bit when watched! (No exaggeration, sadly).

Ben: my longing for wednesday evenings each week has truly helped me out a great many times when I was really depressed. I've always wanted to write you that, but I never worked up the courage. At least not until this very rant where I wave my cane and loudly complain that you're not as good as you used to be. So sorry! I'll make it up by -also- buying any more novels and other stuff you produce in the future!!!!

I was having the same problem with Firefox. I discovered that reloading the page after the add ended allowed me to play the video without the add coming up first and it worked just fine.

I kind of preferred it when his humour was a lot drier; recently, he's been trying to mix things up by delving into other types of humour, but personally it doesn't stick with me as much.

Nonetheless, I've been watching his videos for at least 6-7 years, and I don't see myself stopping. I practically grew up with Zero Punctuation and I'd be lying if I said that it didn't help me in learning to speak and write English to the level that I do now.

I know it's a bit silly, but I really owe something to this video series.

I right clicked on the vid to open it in a new tab. It took a moment to start but eventually worked.

You'll all laugh at this, then: it worked fine for me in IE 11.

OT: 8 years and 400 episodes already? And he's the first Escapist video contributor! Go Yahtzee!
On second thought, don't go Yahtzee, please! So many other great ones have come and gone in the time you were here!

I'd hate to imagine the kind of person who looks up to Yahtzee as one.

8 years of ZP marks 8 years of me jumping onto this site almost every Wednesday.

Then I had to make a user account and everything went crazy after that. <.<

Still getting my weekly laugh though. Glad he set up shop here because its been a hilarious 8 years. :D

Well, I could comment on how I discovered ZP many years back, and how it has kept me coming back to this site all this time even after several of my favourite contributors jumped ship, and how this weekly dose of humor has inspired me to at least try my hand at reviewing something, but I'll just keep it simple and short.

Here's to another 8 years, mister Croshaw, and many laughs to come.

Cheers.

And what a hell of an 8 years it has been. Still able to deliver a quality show for this long while expanding to other entertainment. That is not a common thing.

I always wanted to call Yahtzee something heavy that many here even found controversial at the beginning, but he is a genius. Or someone described him better, a wordsmith.

Shine on you crazy bastard

I dunno, I love him cracking on the plot of Lightning Returns, or suggesting that the person who wrote the story for Dark should write a second draft (that entire review, really). Granted that the really good bits aren't as often, but he's been doing this once a week for 8 years. It's impressive that the show is still as funny as it is.

Damn son... I don't think I can imagine a Wednesday without watching a "single" Zero Punctuation episode, even if it's just one to re-watch because he got a week or so off... I still remember when X-Play would preview the latest video of ZP (albeit "censored"), which originally introduced me to the Yahtzee himself in video form...

Anyway, let's go all the way to 1000 Zero Punctuation videos and beyond! WOO!

Surprised Duke Nukems weren't in this article. More surprising was the omission of Prototype, being that was the one that spawned his columns.

I miss them too... and all I can do is try to find various clips of X-Play off YouTube... Strangely, none of them [so far] have been during the times they would introduce a preview from the latest Zero Punctuation video at the time...

Which, now that I think about it, what was The Escapist's relations with G4TV, specifically with X-Play?
