On the subject of Oil I Highly recommend this talk by one of the directors of the Rocky Mountain Institute: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/amory_lovins_on_winning_the_oil_endgame.html
for some conclusive (peer reviewed) proof that getting off oil will be good for us as consumers and our economies.
