Get to Comic-Con, Play Mass Effect 3

BioWare is making Comic-Con all about Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age II by bringing brand new content to the show.

BioWare is adding its two cents to San Diego Comic-Con this year to make the event bigger than ever. Those two cents will come in the form of playable demos for both Dragon Age II [http://www.amazon.com/Mass-Effect-3-Xbox-360/dp/B004FYEZMQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1308688314&sr=1-4] DLC that BioWare is bringing to the show.

BioWare community guru Chris Priestly announced the demos on the BioWare Social Network forums. He writes that not only will Mass Effect 3 be playable for the first time, but brand new Dragon Age II DLC will also be on display. BioWare previously tweeted [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/110229-BioWare-Tweet-Confirms-Dragon-Age-3] that it had started work on Dragon Age III, but apparently isn't done with Dragon Age II just yet.

BioWare will also he hosting the first ever BioWare Costume Contest on July 22. I suggest going for the Minsc/Boo combination from Baldur's Gate, the dog from MDK 2, or just confusing everyone by dressing up as Sonic the Hedgehog from Sonic Chronicles [http://www.amazon.com/Sonic-Chronicles-Dark-Brotherhood-Nintendo-DS/dp/B00163ROMW/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1308690986&sr=1-1].

You actually don't even need a Comic-Con badge to take part in any of these festivities, as BioWare will be set up in the Hilton Gaslamp hotel. Live nearby and love yourself some BioWare? Head over.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 runs from July 21-24.

I am personally offended by the lack of Bioware events such as this in Canada, from a Canadian company, no less..

Oh well, I'm sure youtube will have something live for me to spectate, at worst.

How many major industry entities ever show up at Toronto Comic Con? Why would they bother when it is barely a fraction of the size of SDCC?

I've always wanted to go to a convention like this. Problem is, I have no one to go with and it'd be boring by myself. Yes, there's a lot of stuff to see and do (and pretty girls in amazing costumes :) but without someone to talk about the days' events with, or simply to sit down, have a burger, and recover with, it wouldn't be as fun.

On another note, I sure hope BioWare isn't done with Dragon Age II. Considering Dragon Age Origins got tones of DLC, I expect the same from Dragon Age II. As for Mass Effect 2, as much as I want to play it, I'd steer clear of it. Because playing it would only drive me nuts because I'd want to play even more!

Woo!, more copy-pasted dungeons for DA2!
Actually no. They made it very clear that the DLC was postponed because of DA2's criticism. They want to make this more appealing to those who criticized DA2. Besides, the Sebastian DLC didn't have copy pasted dungeons.

Queue Bioware/DA2 raging.

Wish I could go.
It took a few months, but I think we've FINALLY herded up all the stragglers. They were shoved into the molten core of a Normandy SR-2 model and fired into the sun.

*wipes hands satisfactorily*

And I kind of want to just ignore the Comic Con altogether and get a hotel room JUST to play ME3. Oh man, I'd never leave the hotel and it would still be the best vacation EVER.

Eugh, not more Dragon Age II. The thought of having to sit through any more of Hawke's bland as beige voice acting is enough alone to make me want to run for cover. It'd be nice if Bioware stretched their creative wings a bit with a new IP or something, but I suppose developing an MMO kind of limits your resources.

It was sarcasm, thank you. I'm fully well aware of that sad fact, despite how much it annoys me so.

I'd still go to TCC if I could. It's only a couple hours drive from here.

I would if I could too. Alas, I am far outside of driving range of San Diego living in Alberta, and I can't afford a plane ticket either..
