This Left 4 Dead Fan Film Has Everything You Want

Witches and Hunters and Smokers - oh my!

The Left 4 Dead games are incredibly entertaining as games in their own right, but when you think about it, they'd also probably make great movies. You have a small core cast of entertaining and diverse characters, you have a city filled with mindless, ravenous Infected, and you have a very simple goal: Get the hell out of Dodge. Sure, it'd probably be a lower-budget action flick more than anything else, but you could definitely make a movie adaptation pretty easily.

Amateur filmmaker Brett Driver decided to do precisely that, with a trailer for his Left 4 Dead fan film (seen here) posted to YouTube. The acting isn't the most impressive in the world, but what is impressive is the quality of the makeup and costumes: The characters all look like their in-game counterparts, and that Smoker looks downright disturbing.

There's no word on whether or not Driver plans to actually release a longer film or if this "trailer" is the whole shebang. I'd love a full short film myself, but if this is all the L4D action we get then I'm perfectly fine with that, too.

OMG this is the greatest L4D thing I've ever seen! :)
Give this man a big budget and let him do a full length movie!

AHHHHHH my ears. The lines feel so forced you'd think they were played jedi. As a photo shoot this is good, as a fan film its alright, as a film not even close. I am dissapointed when I was pictures of this fan film a year ago.

Pros: The costumes are good. The main 4 actors look exactly like what the characters would look like in real life. Also, there was clearly a lot of effort put in to it.

Cons: The acting, OH the acting! The game had cheesy dialogue, yes, but at least it had professional voice actors! The lines in this trailer sounded VERY forced.

A+ for effort, though.

It has the appearance down pat, but oh god the acting. I wouldn't be able to sit through more than a few minutes of that. It was painful.

Francis/Louis are done well. Bill's got the look but not the attitude, and Zoey looks bored.

Love the pills reference though.

Is that a MLP reference, or a coincidence?
Three things listed and oh my has been a common thing for a long long time...
I didn't know about that...
I don't know what it originates from but I remember it back as far as the 90s when the WWE had the slogan Tables, ladders, and chairs, oh my! for one of their PPVs.
