Epic's Got A New, Unannounced, IP In The Works

Epic Games has plans for a brand new game property. How much do you want to bet that it's a My Little Pony platformer?

Epic Games has a lot of fingers in a lot of pies, but it sounds like the studio is about to get its metaphorical digits even dirtier. The company has confirmed that it's working on a brand new, unannounced videogame property. However, aside from the project's existence, Epic is keeping mum on any other details.

French site <a href=http://www.xboxygen.com/Actualite-Xbox-360/Business/Confirme-Epic-Games-bosse-sur-une-nouvelle-IP>Xboxygen discovered the information via the company's official HR recruiting page, which had a posting for a Gameplay Programmer:

"Epic Games is looking for Gameplay Programmers to join the team currently working on Gears of War 3, as well as a new unannounced IP in development."

Can't wait to hear what it is. Also, I don't think Gears of War 3 is the end of the franchise. They did state that it's the final one, but I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft wanted to make 3 more.

OT:I hope Epic decided to make a game based on Samaritan because I think it could make a great open world sandbox kind of game. But then again I've thought that ever since I saw the demo.

Seriously. I find it hard to be compelled to be interested.

Epic, Love the engine, could care less about the developer. They sort of remind me of valve in that other people are doing the most interesting things with their toys.

Hopefully it won't be brown and gritty, I could really go for a cartoony AAA game about now. Maybe it will be (dare I say it?) original. I'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Gears of War and My Little Pony are about as opposite as you can get when it comes to visual style, story telling, and basically everything. The thought of a company that made a game where you chainsaw someone in half making a My Little Pony game is funny. I believe it's supposes to be a joke.

Although, if it is a My Little Pony game, well...Epic does make good games, and to the best of my knowledge there has yet to be a MLP game. I wonder why that is...?
