Dr. Strange Meets Nemesis In New Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Screens

Capcom has released another batch of Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 images featuring tentacles, goo and a wizard in a skirt.

Though a few classic MvC3 characters appear in the gallery below, the focus is definitely on Resident Evil's Nemesis and Marvel's Dr. Strange.

The former is a hulking abomination of science hell-bent on smashing members of the S.T.A.R.S. team into bloody paste, while the latter is a crippled surgeon with a propensity for archaic tongues, cryptic warnings and the wackiest color scheme Steve Ditko could imagine.

Befitting the above description, Nemesis seemingly moves slowly, relying on his massive bulk and wildly damaging attacks to crush foes, while Strange prefers a more cautious, guarded approach based on spell-casting and dazzling opponents with his totally masculine manskirt.

Alright, admittedly, that's a childish slight against Dr. Strange. It's a tunic, if anything, flouncy as it may be.

In more pressing news, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 now has a release date in Japan. Andriasang reports [http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/08/16/ultimate_mvc_dated/]:

Capcom announced today a final release date of November 17 for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. The PS3 and Xbox 360 fighter will be priced ¥4,990.

There is still no official release date for the United States or the European territories, though one could probably assume that the latter two areas will also be seeing the game around that time. Localization is a tough job, but Capcom is a smart group that no doubt realizes the profit to made from a near-simultaneous worldwide launch.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, in news that is likely only important to myself and a handful of lonely comic geeks permanently trapped in the 1980s, "sumoslamman" of the I Speak Comics blog has penned a primer on Rocket Raccoon [http://ispeakcomics.wordpress.com/2011/08/16/ultimate-marvel-vs-capcom-3-character-primer-rocket-raccoon/] for those of you who don't live and breathe Marvel ephemera. Rocket is scheduled to appear in UMvC3, so this is likely a good time for you all to bone up on the history of Marvel's favorite gun-toting, anthropomorphic, wise cracking space rodent.

Presumably he will be appearing in a forthcoming media blast, and I will try my best not to insult his adorable little raccoon clothes.

At first I was really annoyed at this game's announcement. I was annoyed that they're releasing a super-awesome version just 8 months after the base game. Wasn't planning on getting this.

Then my 360 had to go and eat the disk. So I guess I'll be getting it.

So yay, I guess.

Fate clearly wants you to have this game.

I was angry at first about the game too but the they had to go and announce that Phoenix Wright and Iron Fist were gonna be in it.

Dammit Capcom, you know how to take my money.

Call me when they put Mega Man back in.

Oh wait, they're not going to do that because that would be what fans want.

Amazing how the first three replies to this article are more about Capcom's business practices than the actual content of the article itself. Rather than gaze at the pretty screenshots all starry-eyed, it devolves to yet more complaining.

Typical.

I for one, embrace the badass-ery that is Nemesis in these recent screens. His Level 3 combo looks almost...plant-like, from what I can gauge. Perhaps Capcom will release a character trailer soon. I would love to see him in action.

Dr. Strange though...eh...I'll enjoy pounding him to a pulp. Probably won't ever place him on my teams, though.

I think it's been shown time and time again by their actions that Capcom is pretty freakin dumb.

I'd consider that statement more accurate if it weren't for his recent revival and low-level breakout status of sorts via the more recent Guardians of the Galaxy series and getting a new miniseries with Groot in the later half of the Annihilators book.

Funnily enough it is also typical for one user to get all high and mighty and complain about complainers, acting as if he's being more mature then others.
[sub][sub][sub]What I'm doing now is also pretty typical too >_>[/sub][/sub][/sub]

OT: Looks good, but I'm on the fence about getting this because MvC3 is working fine and I'm not fully inclined to spend $60 on a few new characters.

It's actually only $40.

They actually did release a date for the U.S. It's 2 days before Japan, November 15th.

Thank you for those.

Ghostrider seemed totally unbalanced for me in the fourth video. He can spawn Dhalsim's reach with normal speed.
