New Miracle of Sound Song Making Debut at Gamescom UPDATED

Mass Effect and cool tunes: Is there really anything better in life?

Miracle of Sound, AKA Gavin Dunne: You love him, we love him, and rather excitingly, BioWare loves him. So much so, in fact, that it asked him to come and debut his new song live at Gamescom.

You can watch him live on BioWare TV [http://www.masseffect.com/me3/game/biowaretv/] at 6PM GMT - which is 1PM EST and 10AM PST - on Friday, August 19th. The song is called "Normandy" and is based on Mass Effect 2. It will be the third song that Dunne has written about BioWare games, and his second about the Mass Effect series.

BioWare's David Silverman will also interview Dunne, and fans will be able to ask questions via Twitter. All you need to do is direct your query towards the official BioWare Twitter [http://twitter.com/#!/biofeed] feed, and if you're lucky, your question will be one of those put to Dunne.

You can peruse Dunne's other songs here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound], including his songs about Dragon age 2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/2965-Age-of-the-Dragon-Dragon-Age-2-Song ] and Mass Effect [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/3158-Commander-Shepard].

Update: Schedules are malleable things, and are often subject to change. Dunne's Gamescom appearance is now taking place at 1PM GMT, or 8AM EST/6AM PST. The venue hasn't changed, however, and you can still catch him on BioWare TV.

I unfortunately won't be able to see it live, but I hope for the best, Gav!
Also, since I don't have twitter I have a question. How do you record the songs, and do you play all the instruments and sing yourself?

He said he uses drum samples and plays the guitar himself, if my memory is working.

OT: I'm trying to get a new computer working (with tons of difficulties), and hopefully it will be by that time, 'cause this one can't handle a live stream.

I record them with Cubase and Ableton, and yep I do everything myself!

Definitely gonna watch this live if my connection doesn't lag or choke...

Anyways: Congrats, Gav. We knew you'd be big.

Nice! Now I can at least follow the events of the day via live stream. I'd still prefer actually being there, but as consolation prizes go I guess it'll do. (Curse the water damage in my apartment! I'm stuck here! D:< )

One thing I didn't quite understand: Will the interview be on the live feed as well?
Oh well, at least you're doing the interview with someone who's guaranteed to speak your language fluently. ^^°

1pm GMT? Holy crap, I'll actually be awake for that. Makes a change from the stupid times I've had to stay up and watch E3.

This is awesome. I've was in these threads for a while until I lost my last password on my old account, but I've seen him around the forums a lot.

It's cool to see witness something like this. Hope it all goes well.

"Normandy" certainly didn't disappoint. Nice one, Gav!

Good to know you've survived that electric storm over Cologne, by the way. ^^

-EDIT-
By the way, you should flee the country as soon as you can, seeing how you were complaining about the heat; current weather reports suggest temperatures of up to 36°C starting this weekend!

It certainly didn't! I can't wait for Wednesday, so I can hear it again! Congrats to you Miracle, for getting to a position other artists would kill for!
