The Handsome Jack mask isn't incredibly absurd... until you put it on and notice its graphics keep slipping behind the Spy model. Spy makes an expression with his face, and the mask changes from "handsome" to "horrific".

The Blind Justice is based on General Cornelius Slate, my favorite character in Bioshock Infinite. His love of war not only clarifies the protagonist Booker's backstory, but also makes him silly as he chants about getting a "soldier's end" and tragic when he gets one.
