Rumor: 10th Anniversary Devil May Cry Collection Coming to 360 and PS3

We're approaching Devil May Cry's North American ten-year birthday, and Capcom might be bringing a gift.

Though Capcom has as of yet made no formal announcement, the ESRB's website [http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp?title=devil+may+cry] has recently updated its listings for the first three Devil May Cry games to include the 360 and PS3, leading some to believe that the games will soon be ported into HD and re-released.

This comes a few months after a Spanish retail chain accidentally listed a Devil May Cry: 10th Anniversary Edition for release on November 30, which seems to match up with the ESRB listings. As the evidence piles up, Capcom staunchly refuses to acknowledge any of it, saying "We haven't made any announcements regarding a Devil May Cry collection."

Of course, one glaring inconsistency is the big "Only on Playstation" hovering in the top right corner of the supposedly leaked image. That doesn't mesh well with the ESRB listing it for the 360, so perhaps the leaked image is fake. Or perhaps Capcom decided bring the game to 360 in the four months since the image came out; we can't really know.

Until Capcom is ready to let the cat out of the bag, we'll just have to keep guessing at things like release date and price.

My heart just stopped for a second there... excuse me.

I know it's just a rumor, but still, it's nothing short of epic.

EDIT: Still no love for Onimusha, Capcom?. I'd love to see the HD treatment, please.

DMC2 doesn't exist in my mind, but the first and third are more than welcome in whichever console I decide to get this on. Because it's just silly to not put them out on both.

On the upside, we get DMC1 and DMC3 in all thier respective glory.

On the downside, we get DMC2.

Ill probably wait for a confirmed price before i think to get this, provided the rumor is true of course.

Will the third be the unedited International version? I'm feeling Masochistic and want that error on huge scale that turned "Hard mode" to "Normal mode".

Considering I only played number 4, and maybe another that I can't remember (It had two discs, you and some girl were there but the person who I borrowed it from had scratched the second disc beyond belief, so I was left with a half finished game. I remember some boss by water too and walking through some streets).

Calumon: They needed that many games to find out if he cries? He must be like, made of stone, or know that where ever he goes, he gets to have free food and is too happy to cry!

On PS3, this would be back of the Classic's HD range, how would It work on 360? Download off Live?

Weird, I could have sworn they only made 2 DMCs for PS2, 1 and 3, oh wait that's right! ...They made DMC3 Special Edition with fixes. What's this DMC2? :|

The game you're thinking of was Devil May Cry2 where you played and Dante and Lucia, commonly known to be the worst one of the series because half of it made no sense, had no point, and was mortifyingly easy.
It DID have the coolest boss ever though, Argosax The Chaos, an anorphous blob with the heads of all the bosses you killed (And Gryphon from DMC1! Woo Gryphon!) Sticking out in a circle, Where whichever one or two you were facing would attack you. With the added awesomeness of ALL OF THEM attacking you on Very Hard, making you fight eight bosses at once.

I seem to remember a trailer for DMC4 that made a joke about DMC2 not really happening, so I'm surprised Capcom would even spend the funds to make an HD version of it.

DMC3 is absolutely my favorite of the series, so I'm looking forward to playing through that again!

I am happy. Very happy.

I wonder if they are going to redo the voices for 1 and 2. I know Reuben Langdon (The voice of Dante [and Ken Masters]) still works at Capcom and he provided the voice of Dante in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

But I will kill them if they redo Devil May Cry 3's voices and don't use Daniel Southworth as Vergil.

Wow, I was sold on the series by it's worst game? That kinda says a lot about it, huh?

I guess I'll add it all to my "To buy" pile...

along with half the games coming out this Christmas...

MY WALLET IS GOING TO DIE!

Calumon: Jack, I'm getting hungry again...

Jack: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I did enjoy DMC2, even supporting all the hate it gets, if you ignore absolutly everything that goes on its decent gunny jumpy slashy fun. You kill an office tower! The whole thing is a guy!
DMC1: "jesus wtf i died in the first 2 seconds of this bossfight...oh and 2 levels later it shows up as a Normal enemy i fight 3 at a time"
DMC2 = pseudo-DMC action for babymen
DMC3 = Slightly less ridiculus, Class systems! RPG elements! best one.
DMC4 = Also good

...And now picture Reuben Langdon voicing this scene:

If it comes out on Xbox360 I'll give it a try.
I'd much rather play the classics than try Ninja Theory's male-Amy Winehouse fights demons game.
