Dead Island DLC Delayed Even Longer

Sorry, folks. Sounds like Dead Island's DLC pack is going to stay buried for a little longer.

Earlier this month, Techland announced that it was <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/113067-Dead-Island-DLC-is-On-Hold-While-Devs-Hunt-Bugs>taking a little longer than it planned to get DLC out for the game. This was because the studio was working on ironing out the various bugs that plagued the game when it was first released. Today, Techland has revealed that the "Bloodbath Arena" DLC will be delayed even longer due to the these clean-up efforts.

Techland made the news official on the Dead Island Facebook page:

We are working hard to make the Bloodbath Arena DLC available as soon as possible. However, due to further polishing of the main game the finalisation of the DLC code has been delayed. We know that many fans are eagerly waiting for it and apologise for any inconvenience. We expect to announce a release update next week.

Bloodbath Areana is the DLC that was announced <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/111799-Publisher-Reveals-Exclusive-Dead-Island-Steam-Pre-Order-Bonus>before the game was even released. Susan's <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/9114-Dead-Island-Review>review of the game noted that it's an enjoyable zombie romp, in spite of its "rough edges", and Dead Island has been <a href=http://www.examiner.com/video-game-news-in-national/deep-silver-comments-on-dead-island-s-sales>reportedly been selling incredibly well since then.

At least they'll release it, no need to rush things and anger consumers.
Good luck with your future DLC packs, Techland.

So long as it gets released, I'm okay with waiting to ensure it turns out as well as it can. I loved Dead Island, and would love more, but right now, I am preoccupied with a few other games, so the promise of more Dead Island when I have more time is nice.

It's nice to wait a bit before releasing DLC, give people time to finish the game and want more instead of that day 1 DLC where you'll finish the game and DLC by day 3 and be left wanting more. Space out your zombie killing rampages, sure a mass zombie genocide in 1 day is fun but having a smaller zombie genocide once a day or once every other day really extends the game's longevity.

Meh, so long as it works I'm cool with it. Valve and their Portal 2 DLC, on the other hand, have until midnight (PST) before time makes a liar out of Newell. (he said we'd have it by the end of September)

What happened to Whyte's Campaign? It's the first on the list of 3 that shows up in the extras section. I thought that sounded like a great way to add to the story mode.

You sir, win.

Good thing there are modders right? Who needs their DLC when someone will make better for free!

Aw, what a pity! Delayed DLC release for a pretty sub-par game.

My care cup, see how full it isn't?

fans are eagerly waiting for it and apologise for any inconvenience.

After releasing a broken game before it was ready, they choose to insult me by calling me a fan. Right, it's a good thing for them I can't get a refund. I'll never buy Techland games again unless their entire staff is photographed prostrating at the camera begging my forgiveness. That PR "apology" for "any inconvenience" is so boilerplate and insincere. They stole 11 hours of my life that I can't get back.

Unless they invent a time machine... then all sins are forgiven. Bonus forgiveness for flux capacitor.

I am OK with this, I've put 53 hours into Dead Island on the PC and haven't yet completed it, I can wait a little longer.
