A New Resident Evil CG Movie is Also Coming in 2017

<youtube=bA_7jVg5fqc>

If you prefer the Resident Evil CG movies to the live-action ones, you've also got a new movie to look forward to in 2017.

I suppose it's only fair that if I'm going to talk about Capcom [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/168131-Alice-Returns-to-Racoon-City-in-Resident-Evil-The-Final-Chapter-Trailer], they take place in the same universe as the games, and they remain faithful to the spirit of the games, whatever that means at this point. Cynically, they seem to come out close to the time that a new game is arriving in stores, but maybe that's just coincidental.

The new film follows movie-and-sometimes-game protagonist Leon Kennedy, who has been the lead of the previous two movies, Makoto Kamiya [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resident_Evil:_Degeneration], the director of the previous two installments.

Biohazard: Vendetta - an English title is still pending, but it'll presumably just be Resident Evil: Vendetta - will be released theatrically in Japan in the spring of 2017. There isn't currently a North American or UK release date, although chances are high that it'll be released directly to home video later in the year.

A few things:

1) It's nice to see that they aren't completely throwing out all the old Resident Evil stuff. I am curious to see where VII is going, but I still kind of want to know what happens to Chris, Leon, Jill, Rebecca, and all the other survivors from other games.

2) Speaking of Rebecca, can we PLEASE find out what she's up to? Seriously, it's like they're afraid to touch her after the events of the first game.

3) I would just like to point out that if I was assigned to the BSAA unit with the famous Chris Redfield, I would immediately put in for a transfer. Because holy crap, anyone that goes with him anyway always gets wasted. Can we, just once, maybe get a team of biohazzard specialists that actually KNOW how to do their job? Like, they don't get ambushed by zombies, or they aren't surprised when something with seven heads and the size of a building shows up?

So, I really like the Anderson movies, and found the animated stuff sorely lacking for all the potential it has. :\

Resident Evil, seriously....enough with the mansions. I know you like mansions. I like mansions. But your series has had at least five mansions by now. FIVE!

Just be sure to "accidentally lose" your full-face helmet before the op starts, so you won't be one of the faceless mooks. Also be sure to tell him your name. You still might not survive, but you'll last longer and you'll probably get to make a badass sacrifice.

I never saw damnation, but boy was Degeneration bad. Just be better than that stinkball, please. I'm sorry, just because you have fans who will buy it doesn't mean you can't hire good writers and animators for these things.
