No it shouldn't be illegal, because no one is being harmed in it's creation. It does bring into question their mental state and the possibility that they might move on to real children, but you can't punish them for a crime they might commit. If we do that we're on the road to Minority Report future.
"You're under arrest for the future possession of child porn."
So if I look at pictures which were made by harming people, then that should be illegal? What if I visit a certain site and take a look at a beheading video, does that make me a criminal too?

Of course the beheading would probably still have taken place even if there was no video of it, so I guess the issue is that if viewing (not paying for) child porn increases the amount of abuses on children by encouraging its production then its a bad thing.

Now, if we're discussing sexualized young people in film and art, that's not quite as easy. For one, no one is being harmed. However, as far as I know, there is nothing in anime, manga, or games (not counting hentai) that would qualify as child porn. For one, they don't have sex with anyone and aren't shown naked in sexual ways. The only nudity I can even think of tends to be incidental due to bathing or such.
You've been sticking to some pretty tame stuff, I guess, huh?

You're taking what I said out of context. We're not simply talking about harming people, we're talking about the sexual abuse of children. However you already answered your own question so I don't know what else I can add.

The reason child porn (as in, actual pornography of real human children, not lolicon or a fanfic or whatever; otherwise, Shadman would be in jail now) is illegal because it always includes the molestation of an underage child (as well as the whole ?supply and demand? thing encouraging more child abuse, since you could be classed as an accomplice or whatever for not reporting it). Laws shouldn?t be based on whether or not it?s ?disgusting?, because that?s subjective. Sure, most people would say child porn is disgusting, no shit, but that?s not why it?s illegal.

It shouldn?t be counted as evidence, just like A Clockwork Orange shouldn?t be tried for somehow inspiring a boy to beat the shit out of a tramp. Anime that includes nudity and panty shots of little girls (who, btw, don?t actually look like realistic little girls, because of the fact they?re sexualised as part of a fantasy, like with the designs of numerous adult anime women) would be classed as ?lolicon?, a distinctly separate genre to child porn, if they were explicitly shown to be prepubescent. Although, if you want, you could call it ?child hentai?, because most people know ?hentai? is animated and, therefore, not realistic.

I hope most people here agree that it?s good Lolita isn?t banned anymore. I still find it funny that a lot of people accused it of ?promoting paedophilia?, when it was the opposite and it was blatantly clear the protagonist, Humbert, was an unreliable narrator making Freudian excuses for himself.

I suppose this could be seen as "fueling the fire," that is, feeding the urges of those who may actually consume/take part in child pornography. Like the marijuana "gateway drug" theory, the story could cause a person who is merely curious about child pornography to become more reliant on such material, leading to them needing the real thing. Not saying I believe this to be necessarily true, just playing devil's advocate.

If you get off to kiddies then I think you're breaking the law, even if it's fictitious or any of that, it's still wrong. I think it's possible that the punishments implemented be less severe if it's drawing or what have you but it should be a legal transgression no less.
Multiple people are probably going to job on you so I feel bad for this.
Why is it wrong? I want you to stop getting off to females(Assuming you're a hetrosexual male) and get off to muscular guys. Just flip the switch, because liking girls is wrong.
Sexuality doesn't work that why. I like wolves, the idea of having one pound me is infatuating. Is that wrong? I'm not about to go get an animal to do that though, but I can still have outlets for my fantasy. Hentai or writing, like CoC. You can't just say 'liking this is wrong, stop being turned on by it'. Because that causes suppression and frustration. Those two things are much more likely to lead to some one sexing a kid. And I apologize if you feel like this is an unneeded 'attack' cause I'd imagine you might get pounced a few more times.

If no one is being hurt in the making of it, it should not be illegal. Even though it is disgusting.
