In the anime/manga series Death Note, which is the true side of justice? Kira's or L's?

Edit: Personally, I side with L.

L's, as Justice is dictated by the law of the land and Kira is a wanted criminal.

L's but only because killing people is wrong under any circumstances, something being law does not necessarily make it right.

L. Kira kills anyone he pleases and toys with peoples lives; L sticks (largely) to only doing things which are the right thng to do.

Strange you mention Death Note since I'm listening to Maximum The Hormone right now.

OT, L of course.

Kira was an asshole. Light had a twisted and corrupt view of the world. One human does not have the right to take that power in his hands and use it as he pleases.

He killed people without even so much as a second thought. The only reason he kept people around was so he could use them enough before they became a threat to him, then he'd kill them.

Besides, L kicked ass and was probably one of the best comic book characters ever.

I side with Kira's point of view.
But L is probably one of my favourite fictional characters.

At first, Kira was really just The Punisher. Later, he ended up crossing the line and killing innocents.

So I guess until that happened, Kira's was the side of justice.
