Meh.... I think he should get off his fat ass and finish the books first and foremost, i mean come on he's old and in danger of pulling a Chaucer.
Pulling a "Jordan" is probably a more apt and direct comparison. Don't tell me your comparing this to The Canterbury tales.
Chaucer is much more notorious for dying before his writing was completed then Jordan. He died what just last year? And no i'm not comparing stories, I'm comparing possible situations pertaing to an author.
Well he died before releasing the last book!! The most important book in the whole series and he dies!

And now the guy replacing Jordan is going to divide the book into 3 parts...pfff...
Heh, yeah, as if the damn series didn't have enough installments already.
And these 3 new books will have around 900-1100 pages. -.-'

Jordan says "Last book", Brandon Sanderson says "Last 3 books"...

Cool. I have never read the books but I love RPGs and I love fantasy, and who knows maybe the game will get me in to the series

I dunno about this... a tv series is one thing, but I'm having trouble thinking of how they could make a good ASOIAF game. I'll reserve judgement until we receive more details.

I agree with an HBO style TV series they could almost make each chapter into individual episodes and voila viewing magic. As to a game, well I'm reminded of an awful attempt years ago at a Wheel of Time game. Epic, colossal, legendary, (insert latest internet catch word), failure. Unfortunately, I see this endeavor travelling the same road.

And just for the public record, the Wheel of Time series died long before Jordan did.

You know what might actually make for a good game - you play a Brother of the Night's Watch, and your quests consist of exploring areas beyond the Wall. Plenty of wildlings, giants, and Others to fight up there ;D

You know, I haven't actually read these books. Might as well make it my next project.

I hope I'm not missing out too badly on anything.

You definitely should read them. They're fantastic. And at least you'll have plenty to read, unlike us poor schmoes waiting for the 5th book.
