So I started a game of Fallout 1 and I didn't see where to name my character.
Now I am...None...
I kind of don't like this name is there any way to change it? I'm only to shady sands.
So has this ever happened to you in a game?
Should I restart or just stick with the name none?

It says none on the top left in the character creation, that's where you put your name.

If you really don't like the name restart. Shady Sands is pretty early anyway, so long as the RNG doesn't buttfuck you coming out of the Vault.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. did it better.

There are some editors at NMA; perhaps one of them will suit your need.

Personally I think you should just roll with it.

Also there is a Odysseus joke to be made somehow.

PC version, very easy

- Open console by press the tilda key, it's the one next to the number one on your keyboard.
- type 'shownamemenu' without the quotation marks
- hit enter

Now set your players name in the menu that opens.

Fallout 1 doesn't have console commands.

I did the same thing with my favorite Skyrim character. I just rolled with it... Prisoner doesn't sound too bad considering he's an evil ************

You could live out an existence of being someone who denies their existence, thinking they are nothing, or their amount adds up to "None."
You could possibly role play with it, having them think they died when the bombs fell and they are just in a dream, allowing them to get away with dickish things, as they don't think they will impact the "false" world.

Captacha suggests changing your name to Rosie Lea.

OP should just chill out and go with the flow, make up an origin story for your weirdly named character. My Skyrim character "Prisoner" was an illiterate Argonian criminal who had fled to Skyrim from Black Marsh.

Mine was a wandering Redguard who decided to keep the moniker (despite not having criminal tendencies) and throw away the remnants of his old life.

There have been a great many Fallout characters named None. It's a time honored tradition.

But if it bothers you, just restart.

I'd look at it as an opportunity to add a bit of RP. Why are you named None? Why did your parents name you that? I'm sure you could come up with some explanation and then the character will be better in your head

Pity you didn't misspell it. Nun, Champion of the Wastes would be a poignant and hilarious character to RP. Is her shotgun named "1000 Novenas", or does she just bash miscreants over the head with the last known copy of The Imitation of Christ?

Done this sooo many times.
I think you can click on the "Name" space and you get to edit it. You could in F2 at least, or so I recall.

I don't know how to help you, so here's a fun related video to cheer you up.
