Ok, so I just came upon this while Youtubing:

And I must say, the fighting engine is flexible enough to make some truly awesome battle scenes! Just look at the Jin-Hakumen fight towards the end!

This got me thinking back to the time when I was first playing God Of War 2 and that bit with the collapsing towers. Man, that was awesome.

So which memorable awesome scenes can you share?

how interesting. I believe someday the Cpatcha is gonna get sentient...

I loved the airport scene from Max Payne 3.

Unfortunately, there aren't many good videos of it on youtube.

My favorite set piece in any game ever is the opening sequence of Uncharted 2 with the train. Dunno why, it just is.

The 747 scene in Deus Ex, where you can kill Agent Navarre instead of shooting Lebedev (which the game never hints it's possible to do). The first time I did it, I was utterly shocked that it actually worked.

Contingency from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Took the best parts of the first Modern Warfare (All Ghillied Up, hilltop battles) and mixed it with an over-the-top plot twist (Price shoots a nuke! WTF?)

The Suicide Mission from Mass Effect 2. The level of detail/variables in that one mission still amazes me after all this time.

The level "Twin Seeds" from NiGHTS Into Dreams - you have to jump off a platform (to certain death) of your own volition after being depowered...and then you soar back into the sky as the main theme music starts blasting. Such an amazing moment.

Shooting the Boss in MGS3.

set peices are bad because they ruin games as art......or some crap...

hmmmmI'd say Kalross from ME3 was pretty cool since it was not a very "set peice" type series before

Pretty much any battle I engage in when playing TW games... -_-

Only it's less jaw-dropping and just sadistic and manic grinning...

Anytime my group reaches the very finale of the finale in hard or challenging campaings in Left 4 dead. You know, that one moment where that music plays and "RESCUE HAS ARRIVED!" appears in the screen, then suddenly zombies do a mad rush in a last attempt to kill you. Never fails to pump the adrenaline a little bit, especially if the finale is challenging.

That moment you emulate Hannibal at Cannae... that moment you emulate Caesar at Pharsalus... that moment you emulate Pausanias at Plataea (sort of)... that moment you emulate Asiaticus at Magnesia... that moment you...

...

Uh, excuse me...
