We should place bets on who it's gonna be next. I'll put my money on either THQ or Ubisoft.scotth266 said:Well, if Activision is the new EA, they'll have a sudden surge in niceness levels in about a month or two that will get people to stop complaining about them... and another company will start getting hated on to compensate.Lord Krunk said:Summed up to a few words: It's all right to want to make money, but there are some things that you just don't do. EA did it with DRM, and Activision did this, among other cases like the whole Ghostbusters fiasco.
I agree with you there, but be reminded that the internet is basically one big hate machine. It's where people can vent on anything and everything without regret. That said, it can turn normal people into complete wankers (no pun intended), as evidenced by Penny Arcade's G.I.F.T. theory.I'm not saying that all of the unpleasant feelings toward Activision are undeserved, but it seems people just like jumping on the hate bandwagon these days: it's like hating on things is the new black.

I'm gonna go with Ubisoft, because I still haven't forgotten that horrible E3 press conference.Lord Krunk said:We should place bets on who it's gonna be next. I'll put my money on either THQ or Ubisoft.
EA didnt make Brutal Legends. EA deserves little thanks for anything still, and probably only picked up Brutal Legends for the same reason Activision dropped it, money.dkuch said:I don't like how Activision is becoming so out of control. EA wasn't even that bad looking back on it. Now EA is better than ever because they are now trying to make quality games. Activision needs to take a step back and chill the fuck down with all of this power hungry bull shit. Testing how far the "consumers" will go for your product is not a good strategy for making money, neither is saying it out in the open that you want to raise games to over 100$.
it´s also that their ceo obviously hates the gamers as well. everything you hear from him comes down to "i need more money, i need more franchises, i need more sequels, creativity my ass!".Lord Krunk said:We should place bets on who it's gonna be next. While I appreciate that other people have an opinion this particular one is bullshit. They DO deserve to be treated like shit for acting like shit.scotth266 said:People seem to be giving Activision the hate that EA had been getting, but to be honest the hate is undeserved. Activision is a business, and they exist to sell product: the fact that their product is games is a bonus. They don't deserve to be treated like the spawn of Satan for attempting to make some extra money.
Granted, this whole Brutal Legend debacle should never have even started, but whatever. It's over now, the good guys won.
EA was hated for years and years of shady tactics, poor products, and company crushing. What they did to Westwood alone has earned my eternal scorn.scotth266 said:Well, if Activision is the new EA, they'll have a sudden surge in niceness levels in about a month or two that will get people to stop complaining about them... and another company will start getting hated on to compensate.Lord Krunk said:Summed up to a few words: It's all right to want to make money, but there are some things that you just don't do.
