Ads for Penny Arcade Game Feature Negative Feedback

True to sardonic form, Penny Arcade has highlighted frothing negative comments about its game as part of its promotion.

The duo behind the PA comic strip released Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One yesterday, in conjunction with Hothead Games, as well as a demo, for Xbox 360 Live and the PC.

The PA website features the opinion of a community member at Wired.com's Game|Life blog, who ranted, "Penny Arcade sucks and is unfunny. please murder penny arcade and then yourself if you disagree with me" and "this game sucks and anyone who likes it sucks. penny arcade sucks and is as unfunny as something that's not funny at all."

The statements now appear as part of banner ads on PA's website.

Well, what else do you expect from them? They can take constructive criticism, and they laugh at those who can't give it.

Absolutely, it just enables them to take things in good humour and spoof the industry even more.

I mean: The game has banner advertisements!? I would have never have guessed, Escapist!

Seems like a preemptive strike, really. From the review I caught in Edge this game is starting to look like a major flop.

I love the PA humor but I'd rather scan through some of my favorite strips than pay money for a crappy game with some good one-liners.

Well, I played the demo and I've got to say it didn't work for me. There's a lot of funny stuff in there; but the game seems somewhat lacking.

Yeah, we've all seen the ads.
Probably the first internet ad ever that actually encouraged me to buy something.
I'm still not going to buy the game though considering the price is so steep.
