Adventure Time Sword Forged in Man At Arms

<youtube=7lx-NduIUw4>
Blacksmith Tony Swatton recreates Jake's sword from Adventure Time and lets Smosh take it for a spin in the latest Man At Arms.

Blacksmith Tony Swatton takes requests every other week for his latest creation in Man At Arms. Bringing weapons from popular TV shows, movies, and games to life, Swatton built another sword from Adventure Time based on popular request. Having already made Finn's sword [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_HxKReSSlA], this time Swatton took on the task of recreating Jake's sword.

Swatton explains his process of forging the sword, and the details differ for each project, making his time with Jake's sword all the more interesting. Moving from the blade onward, a lot of care went into creating the eyes on Jake's sword as well as the skull pommel. Swatton's team breaks down which steps they do first and why. The eyes are two colors, red and yellow, and the team put down a yellow coat before carefully laying down the red coat. Swatton explains the tools and materials he uses without technical jargon.

Like always, Swatton and his crew put the blade to work, destroying watermelons, pots, and glass alike. This time, Smosh joined the action. You can see Smosh's duo hold both Jake's sword and Finn's sword.

If there's something Swatton hasn't made that you want to see, he takes requests in the comments on the video. Now if only we could recreate Finn's grass sword.

Yea, I'm pretty sure the handle of that thing would snap in a move like that, assuming someone really was strong enough to swing it around (which is extremely unlikely).

That blade is easily 8' long, ~15" wide and 6" thick in the middle. That means it weighs at least 1800 lbs (it's 2450 lbs for a solid block with those dimensions). Even if we're generous and assume it's only 5' long, it'd still weigh over 1,000 lbs. There's no way in hell anyone in the real world would be able to make a sword like that workable.

man, this guy is so talented even watching him make mind numbingly stupid swords like this one is really interesting.

I guess I have to rewatched some episodes as I had competely forgot that he even has a sword (yes I did read that it was only one episode that his sword had even appear).

Still, when seeing him swinging that sword you do feel the weight of the sword more than you do usually with swords like that, the artist (Kentaro Miura) is really quite good at that.
Also, it is a sword that was made for unrealistic people waving it at unrealistic things like Dragons.

They already did the Buster Sword. No way in hell they'll do another sword that is just about the same exact weapon(a massive slab of steel).

Perfectly round handles make me sad :(
For a fantasy sword it is better to be true to the design than to make a better handle. No one will ever swing that sword in battle so edge alignment does not matter.

I only remember Jake using his sword once maybe? It's pretty random for him to make this one, still awesome though! He already did the Master Sword, but I would love to see the Fierce Deity Link's sword done, that would be an interesting challenge.

Now that is a silly sword I'd completely forgotten about:

The Sword looks roughly the size of Link and based on his Ocarina of Time height - as an adult - that's 5'3.
Or 161,544 cm for those of us not living in Liberia, Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), United States of America or the United Kingdom. :)

And here's another picture of the sword alone:

I really should have posted a picture of it, thanks for doing so. XD

You have to remember that Fierce Deity Link is a lot taller than Adult Link, so the sword would have to be even bigger!

OT: Speaking of Zelda swords, I would love to see a real life Gilded Sword from Majora's Mask.

I must admit, I'd love to see his take on Fuu Hououji's sword because (a) she's still my favorite manga character and (b) I'd like to see a more... elegant (for want of a better word) take on the crazy oversized sword.

Failing that, the damascus blades/sword from Battle Angel Alita. Cause that patterning is pretty.

Seriously? Of all swords in the show to choose, he picked Jake's sword? It showed up for only about 1 episode and a lot of the fans forget that sword even exists...

The least they could have done was picked the golden sword from season 1-2, that one is pretty iconic. Or maybe the demon blood sword?

I would ask about the grass blade... but yeah that's impossible anyway.

Huh.

I figured he was done with Adventure Time after the golden sword (which was cooler anyway)
Love his work, but I am always at a loss when he releases a new video of a completely random weapon that hasn't been requested or hinted at. Blades shurikens? Really? lol.

Well hopefully something cool will show up soon enough. *fingers crossed for Zoros' katanas.
