Music to move your life:
------------------------
I don't know about all you guys out there but it seems that in this day and age it's all about either Rap or Metal. It's harder and harder to find some normal rock. So it's not surprising that when I ask if anyone has any areosmith on their Ipod, I get a retarded, blank stare.

I love Aerosmith's music, it's been there for the hard times, are for the amazing times. Infact right now i'm listening to Walk this Way, Run-DMC feat. So I had to get Guitar Hero Aerosmith. I am not a freak out huge fan but I really ejoyed their music. Not to say I also enjoyed a bunch of 80's bands like Guns 'n' Roses.

Aerosmith still releases music, and are awesome. I dare you to find a band from 2000's as big as they were, wrote as many songs as they did, and are as unique as them. I mean band, not a singer, not a rapper, not a country star. Aerosmith rocks and if you don't agree, SUCKS TO YOUR MUSIC TASTE!

Sorry dude, there's a shit load of glam rock\metal out there, just ask all the kids with denim and their matching Motley Crue t-shirt and bandanas.

I'll agree they were good in the day (excluding the Run DMC mix - original is better), but today they're nothing compared to their former selves.

Seems like a nostalgic rant then anything else. I don't listen to Aerosmith, though I can certainly respect them for their music as well as how long they've continued their careers (Especially when compared with other bands from the same time period).

But, quite frankly, music and peoples taste in music changes. I used to be big into screamo and the like, now I listen to bands like Bedouin Soundclash and Capital lights. Toned way down, and in the case of the former, sounding WAY different. It happens. There are still people who appreciate older genres, styles, and recordings (I love oldies of all kinds! Simon and Garfunkel for the win!) but it's just a new generation's music to an old generation (And vice-versa).

I agree with the poster, Aerosmith still puts out good tunes. I have several of their albums on my ipod. But it is true that music and people change. I am always listening to something different. Working in a bar as a bouncer I get to hear a lot of the pop stuff coming from the jukebox and or the DJ we have occasionally. So I'm constantly being bombarded with new sounds, but Aerosmith will remain one of my all time favorites.

I prefer Aerosmith's work after they got clean, and were produced by Bruce Fairburn, and had Desmond Child contributing. (Pump, etc).

Me, I've been listening to bands like Van Halen, and Whitesnake, and all the 70's/80's hard-rcok, and 'hair' acts since elementary school; it was quite fun to blast a great anthem off of a boombox to drone out the crotch grabbing Bizkit fans in high-school.

I agree in a way, I play the guitar myself and I find the sound Aerosmith makes quite interesting if not awesome. If I compare this sound to current generation bands of the same genre, it's often a dissapointing feel. Although I disagree with your statement that it's more metal or rap these days. True, if you turn on the tv at a random music channel (in my country, might be different in others) you get to see a large amount of singer/rappers, some mainstream pop bands and very few rockbands.

In short, I wish I was born in the seventies.

In my eyes pop fades quickly, rap/hiphop fades even quicker, but epic rock can last for ages. Aerosmith, ACDC, Phil Colins, Slade and the list goes on and on... What I'm trying to say is that to me rock is music with the /God cheat on it. Despite being shot from all sides it still lives.

Of course Aerosmith is still awesome. Hell, I have a revolution X machine in my house (mostly because I got it HELLA cheap).
