A bit off topic for this episode but I had been thinking about Skye's powers. Maybe her power is simply to make people become very protective/love her type of thing. Didn't he one agent say that both an entire village and a shield team died protecting her and he was willing to die to protect her. Then Coulson who has seen numerous deaths completely breaks after she was shot, and Ward is willing to kill in cold blood to protect Skye. Even May who is usually pretty emotionless loses control of her emotion and beets up a prisoner. Are there any Marvel comics that fit that type of power.

Lorelei has a similar ability. Eros is a guy, but his whole power is pleasure manipulation (eww). I'm sure there are more.

I'm thinking her hacking skills might be related to her power, possibly superbrain pattern recognition powers or a subconsious ability to talk to machines. It would make sense for the character and it gives her a super power that doesn't take up the entire special effects budget.

I had thought about that, but so far she has not really shown any especially supper talent that would suggest that she that she would be considered an 0-8-4 and one that was worth sending in a large enough assault team to wipe out a village and a shield team. That's why I was thinking it related to how every one seems to be oddly very protective of her. If she is not consciously using the power it could be extremely powerful. Imaging if some one with that type of power able to influence people over a 50-100 mile radius, She could have a very large and loyal army of devout supporters. If she turned out evil that would surly rate as an 0-8-4. It would also be worth the effort to have captured her young. at minimum being the "parent" would give them an army/protection and there is the possibility that they could infuse them selves with that ability. Imagine if all of hydra personal being made to be loved by the masses, world domination suddenly become much easier. It also would not take much in the way of special effects.

One of the rumors is that she's Spider Woman, who has pheremone based powers that make her super attractive to men, but women are repulsed by her. I could see that working if she's only producing the pheremones that effect men.

It would be useful, I guess, and it would explain why so many people seem to think she is super special, but it would also act against some other parts of the story. For example, how was she shoot to the stomach without much of a problem by the villains. Maybe its not instantaneous (it requires some cumulative time of interaction to take effect), and maybe its not active at all time (which goes with the part she is likely not familiar with it, and doesn't know how to activate it voluntarily), but those are a lot of "maybe".

Went to see Winter Soldier today. Great!!! Maybe the best Marvel flick so far!
And I hope the series does some really interesting tie-in stuff from now on!

I'm confused on where the timeline is this going on during the events of The Winter Soldier. Did it happen before or after
The Helicarrier assault and the final Cap vs Bucky fight?

Because by the end, all the Shield agents find out about Hydra through an encryption. So, I'm a bit confused.
In the timeline for the past two episodes there are a few bits that synch AoS with CATWS. The first big one is in the previous episode when Sitwell leaves to "go catch a boat". That is probably a day or so before the begining of TWS and ties into that opening scenes (not a spoiler its in the trailers) of Cap leading the hostage rescue mission on the ship.

There is also a point near the end of this most recent episode where Coulson and Hand are watching the events from the finale of TWS on a monitor in real time. So most of the stuff from about 1/3 of the way through "End of the Begining" up to about almost the end of "Turn Turn Turn" happens during the events of Captain America TWS.

I thought even the villain became a little teary eyed when he shot her? I guess I'll have to watch the episode again.

What if Hand really was HYDRA, and was just testing Ward, and it completely backfired on her?
