Sorry to disappoint, but I don't jump to conclusions or generalizations when dicussing things I have little knowledge of. I am certainly by no means a psychiatrist. I have no idea what could be going on in this guy's mind, and therefore, I will not judge him. Besides, if the only thing you have to resort to is a thinly veiled personal attack on users, in the way of assuming we are all guilty of such sterotyping, your argument is very, very lacking.

I've grown up with and around mental illness my entire life.

How dare you call me a hypocrite when you don't have a clue about me.
Brother, I assure you, nobody is talking about you in this thread.

He's serious about this? Really?

I felt bad for him the first time.
But, now I'm starting to get a little annoyed.

Is there a firm that is actually willing to represent him or is he representing himself? That sounds like a self written complaint against the company rather than a complaint filed by a legal firm.

He knows. He's just waiting a week before he sues them too.
I'm questioning the legitimacy of this guys agoraphobia. I mean, won't all these lawsuits require court appearances, i.e. going outside?
Generally, yes. Pretty sure that if he doesn't turn up to court, the other parties win be default. Someone mentioned previously they may have some sort of video link, but I doubt it. Dunno how that works for the whole "Right to face your accuser" issue.

First of all, that second quote isn't mine, its his.

Second of all, its not a personal attack against the user, or wasnt meant to be. I meant almost everyone you'd meet at some point has mocked/made fun of/gossiped about anyone behind their backs/to their face, its just human nature. Perhaps a generalization, yes. But one that is quite accurate, despite personal opinions. I'm not saying I cant be wrong on such, either.

Anyways, you know my thoughts on the bloke.

I have denounced faith in humanity several times before.
But this is it. We've gone past our point of no return in "publicity gamers DO NOT need". I... am disappointed. Truly disappointed.
Oh, and if this is EA again, I am going to send 5 million protesters who block the way out, 6 million Rick-Roll boxes, with NO MEANS OF TURNING THEM OFF, and... er... locusts, or something, to every member of the Inferno development team, for sheer butchering of our species' faith in itself. And for sheer butchering of one of the greatest literary works of all time.

I can't take anything that has to do with the law seriously when both 4/20 AND Winona Ryder are involved.

Only a fool represents himself in court. Without an excellent firm, he hasn't a chance. I've read the complaint and he really has no legal grounds for a suit. The easiest counterargument would be that no one is forcing him to either pay for the game or to play it. By paying, he is agreeing to play to play the game as it has been designed to play. If there were a genuine game flaw that was not being addressed and was keeping him from being able to use a service for which he was paying, then perhaps he'd have grounds for a minor suit. His complaints, however, have nothing to do with preventing him from using a service for which he's paid. Of course, equally stupid suits have been won in the past. Hot coffee spilled in lap comes to mind.

He's going to sue his parents for not being born wealthy, handsome and suave. Also, they didn't raise him in an environment where he was constantly being entertained every second.

As far as these lawsuits go, I think he knows he can't win. He just wants to attention whore and maybe chat up some celebrities.

This guy again??? Honestly, you'd think he'd simply stop playing video games if they caused him this much trouble. This is getting absurd!!!

And yet... Is there a third possibility that we're overlooking? Could all of this in fact be another stealth ad from the wild and crazy guys at the Dante's Inferno [http://www.dantesinferno.com/] marketing team? Is it sloth? Will it be greed? Is it possible that this series of insane lawsuits will turn out to be the most insidious advertisement ever? Of course not - although as explanations go, it makes about as much sense as anything else involved in this case. (And if it is, I'm totally buying the game just for the sheer awesomeness of the marketing.)
If that is true, I will buy ten copies of the game...and eat my shoes...

My good sir, I shall join you on your hunt.

I'm quite curious as to how he's announcing these lawsuits when he's not about to leave his own house.

Phone?

Internet?

Carrier pigeon?
Maybe he write all his arguments down on hundreds of pieces of paper and postes them in eParcels.

Who thinks it would be funny to put a video camera in his home and then block his internet entirely? If he really is a agoraphobe and you cut off his internet, well I think it would be entertaining. Like that show Big Brother, except with real crazy. Angry German kid anyone?

That might happen if he's been clinically diagnosed and gets a lenient judge for all four cases. But then you'd need a pretty lenient judge to not have some of these thrown out so...yeah. Frankly, I think one Activision's assassin's getting to him before the trial is far more likely.
