We are going Tubing down a river this weekend. I wanted to fill my Camel back up with a mixed drink like a Margarita or something. Would that ruin it do you think?

Oh yeah, the back of the camels hump shifts to its belly which makes it difficult to walk.

This is what waterbottles are for. Also, don't drink if you're underage. And I guess don't be stupid if you're of age. Those are my rules and they've worked out pretty well so far.

Don't try to put things that are sticky or have dark color or high sugar content into a Camelback. It won't clean out very well.
Time to move to a plan B

Putting anything but water in a Camelback is a horrible idea.

The most obvious thing is that it will be near impossible to clean fully, and as such I would only do it if I was about to throw it out and replace it anyway. Don't need bacteria and fungal growth within the tubes (which can happen anyway with just water, just alot less likely)

Second, ethanol and alot of types of plastic/rubbers are not a good mix. Ethanol has a chemical tendency to dissolve things(at least more than water does). So generally not a good idea if you don't want holes in your bag, and bag dissolved in your beverage. (This is only a possibility, it would obviously depend on the type of plastic the bag is made out of.)

DO IT. DO IT DO IT DO IT.
It might be a ***** to clean out, but it sounds like it would be really, really awesome.

Actually, I'm looking at mine right now, and it has a little picture of some beer and a bottle of wine with a cross through it. So they don't really want you to do that... but it's really up to weather or not the drink is really, really sticky. These things are pretty durable, in my experience.

I put hot chocolate in one, once, while I was skiing. It didn't taste great, but it was fun.

Well, good, at least then I'll know you're safe. Besides, the water bottle comment was definitely not fatherly. Seriously, I had the wonderful experience of filling a water bottle with the makings of a screwdriver and observing fireworks from a roof. This is what water bottles are for; they're the flasks for alchies on the go.

I know, I may have to fish up a few and fill them up.

That.

Get a flask.

Or a hipflask if you want to be awesome. Or several hipflasks, if you want to be an alchoholic.

Do not do it. Drinking and tubing do not mix. If you get drunk and fall off the tube you may drown.
