It's too bad someone made the mistake of releasing The Force Awakens at the same time as this movie, poor little sci fi movie doesn't stand a chance.

Hehehehe, I can't stop snickering....the first screenshot is the three chipmunks standing in the middle of a road...and I can't help but imagine a semi truck flying down that road and putting them out of our misery. xD

Ouch, 86 million just gone. I'm assuming they'll probably get some of it back through the international market, but thats still a big hit. I'm wondering if thats just because everyone's tired of these films...or because it was up against Force Awakens despite everyone knowing you don't try to compete with Star Wars

Well, "Uptown Funk" was featured in one of those Kids Bop albums, which have no problems showcasing such kid-friendly songs like "Thrift Shop" or "Fancy"... My glob, I wish I was making this shit up...

Other than that, it sounds like this movie makes the latest Alvin and the Chimpmunks series from Janice Karman[footnote]Because her name's on every, single episode...[/footnote] a modern classic...

It's probably both. Honestly they shouldn't have bothered making this one in the first place, but to then also release it on the same week the new Star Wars film releases was practically suicide.

... I used to like the Chimpmunks as a kid too. Just... GOD why do they keep doing this? And against Star Wars to boot, they must be taking advantage of some strange tax law loophole to actually think they're making money on this.
