Amazon warehouses unsafe even by warehouse standards

I just came across a graph that...well, it kind of speaks for itself. It compares reported musculoskeletal injuries between Amazon warehouses, other warehouses, and private businesses. I expected Amazon to be higher, but this is flat-out scary, to me.

So their pay sucks, their workplace is an OSHA nightmare, they frequently scam their smaller sellers, they're breaking critical infrastructure and not paying for it...

Why not nationalize Amazon? Post Office would run it better. Slower, but better
Because making workers suffer in order to make a small elite wealthy beyond all dreams of avarice is what Makes America Great!

I only buy from Amazon it's something super important, or something I can't get from anywhere else. I am glad to never work there. My heart goes out to the factory and delivery drivers. They got through too much bullshit. Not to mention the whole "Drivers' tips being stolen from corporate higher ups". At least the drivers actually got their tips back.

Virtue signaling with the Ukranian flag of course. I bet the guy buys shit from Amazon all the time yet only signals through Twitter his outrage. You know, you can like not buy from Amazon, I buy at most 5 things a year from them. Amazon is just horrible for consumers, yet people keep buying from them so it ain't even about doing it for the sake of the workers (which you should as well), you can't even do it for yourself which is the saddest part of it all.

“It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you.”

And people wonder why more young people identify as socialists.
Why? What countries that you want America to be like are actually socialist?

I love how this starts with naked blatant attacks on the person's assumed character for no reason just because they're sharing some negative information about Amazon. Juicy.

None of them, but every social idea in America to the left of hunting the homeless for sport gets described as socialist, so...

The tweet could've been "have a nice day" and I would've said the same thing. I roll my eyes at everyone with profile pics of the Ukraine flag or whatever flavor of the day thing to be morally outraged about is. You can literally do more by mailing a dollar to the Ukraine than changing your profile pic. Like stop buying from Amazon instead of being morally outraged for a week over a news story you read. I never bought from Amazon much because I knew they were a horrible company years and years ago (purposefully taking losses to squeeze out the competition is horrible business practice). The Prime membership is far more expensive than the $140/year it is, people just don't get it. That's in $$$ it actually costs you right now, not some overarching furture harm or tangential harm, that's just money you lose today from buying from Amazon.

Just because someone says something doesn't mean it's true. I thought most people already knew calling stuff socialism was ironic and a meme at this point. Apparently they don't because the thing most young people are most adverse to doing is listening.

So, you're virtue signaling over how much better the pretend version of this man that lives in your head is, so much so that you'd rather talk about that and not that Amazon has 5x the injury rate of other warehouse jobs?

Like, I don't give a shit if that guy had prime shipping 3 days a week! Sometimes people learn new shit! Focus maybe

Getting worked up about characteristics you're assuming about a person. You are just an angry person aren't you?

1) You don't know that Twitter user from Adam, and you have no idea what they are or are not doing in support of Ukraine. It is just prejudice to merely assume they do nothing and berate them.

2) There is no harm in a statement of support for Ukraine even if no further action is taken anyway. If that's what they support and they wish people to know, I do not see what the problem is. Although statements of support can do things alone, if nothing else by encouraging others to step up and offer support, too.

Then what you're doing is painting a very unflattering picture.

What has capitalism done for me lately?

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Can we stop linking tweets for these things, it looks like that tweet is referencing an article, just link the damn article. Actually this isn't even as good as a tweet, its a meme type image.

I talked about how bad Amazon is. How could you not know how bad Amazon is? So when you see Amazon delivery drivers running, you think that's normal, they just trying to get some exercise in?

Getting worked up about characteristics you're assuming about a person. You are just an angry person aren't you?
Not worked up, just eye-rollingly cringe and mentioning it.

Like how cringe this tweet is

1) I know the type and it's a pretty good fucking guess. Changing your profile pic to something literally does nothing, it has no purpose other than virtue signal.

2) Who the fuck doesn't know about the war in Ukraine?

Not buying from Amazon is an unflattering picture?

Why don't you look up what the poverty rate was before capitalism?
