It's not about the coat, although I'm glad that's not actually part of the costume. That actress just doesn't look the part. Also the dress doesn't work either.

Animation can do big battles better than live action t.v (or in DC's case, movies). And big battles are kinda what superheroes are all about.

Sort of, no. The original version was rather open about her sexuality but in a tasteful way (by the standards of the 80s anyway, which is when she debuted). The cartoon from the 2000s played up her naivety and the New 52 dialed up her sexuality to 11.
