Angry Birds Dominates Apple's Top Ten App Lists

Rovio, Rovio, wherefore art thou, Rovio? Oh, there you are. And there. Also there. Huh.

So what sells on mobile devices? Well, if you guessed Angry Birds, you're not only right, you're right for about 25% of the total paid-for list. However it isn't just Rovio's world; there are one or two other apps out there. If you're buying it on iPhone, chances are you - or someone you know - bought one of the following:

1. Angry Birds
2. Fruit Ninja
3. Doodle Jump
4. Cut the Rope
5. Angry Birds Seasons
6. WhatsApp Messenger
7. Camera+
8. Words with Friends
9. Tiny Wings
10. Angry Birds Space

Whereas for iPad:

1. Pages
2. Angry Birds HD
3. Angry Birds Seasons HD
4. Where's My Water
5. Fruit Ninja HD
6. Angry Birds Space HD
7. GarageBand
8. Words With Friends HD
9. Cut the Rope HD
10. Keynote

I, for one, support our new avian overlords, in the hope that one day they shall enact a Free Bacon Decree, whereby tasty pork products will be made available to whoever wants them. Interesting - but perhaps not that surprising - that so few non-game apps make it on the list. Now, time for an omelet ...

Whether or not this is news worthy is questionable. But this is definitely not news. This is up there with water is wet.

The best part is that last paragraph though. That is amusing.

Wherefore does not mean where. It means why (okay actually, "for what reason" but "why" is close enough).

Your pun makes no sense.

And well yeah Angry Birds has been free several times this year already, at least in the NL iStore, so I guess that has something to do with its many downloads as well.

Angry Birds has always been free, ever since the very first ragdoll physics game was first made by some teen in Flash and put online for all to waste time on. It still baffles me that Angry Birds has been anywhere near as successful as it has.

Level design, art, presentation, and gloss. You can't just say that a ragdoll physics game existed and thus made all after it worthless. That's stupid.

As a Finnish person, it is slightly demoralizing that my nation is nowdays known for a silly flash game. We've made good videogames too, we made Max Payne.
